Nice looking pics NA. What is with the blue tint in the sonar pics? Is that just the way the lighting is in the room?

msly - my longest underway was 108 days without surfacing.

yeah - they want it dark in there, so u can see the 'waterfall' better. usually its red light, but they can do that color too.

those were cool pics i probably couldnt live on a sub because i dont like being in little places for long or claustrophobia

yeah - they send u through alot of tests before they let u on.

I wonder could submarines just go right under a hurricane?

yes - did that several times. We usually travel at about 400-600 feet, so that deep, there is no movement in the water from the surface swells.

How in the hell did you get a waterfall in a Submarine???? Yo thats some custom ass work! I've heard of hooking up your ride....but a waterfall??? Props to you bro!

LMFAO!!!

thats cool can u look up in a submarine can u see like the surface moving or something

robriguez - waterfall, lol. the screen on the bsq15 sonar display is called the waterfall, because the diagram looks like one.

bmoc - no looking at the surface, bro - no windows!

Hey NA, as an old submariner.. have you ever watched the movie "Das Boot"
Its available on DVD in german with english subtitles or in english (but the syncro sux ass)

Its about life in a german submarine during WW2. Pretty darn good movie.
