Have read mixed things about FMS. Some say they're good. Some say not. I guess it's like the saying about opinions...everybody has 1.
I think it depends upon your driving style, FMS is not designed for bashing. Like anything else in life, choose the right tool for the job. FMS tends to be more scale oriented, and should be driven accordingly, meaning, if you wouldn't try it in a 1/1 scale vehicle, you shouldn't expect to be able to do it without damaging something.

I have no complaints, my FMS rigs have held up as well as any other brand.

I understand. I do like the scale look. Was looking at scx30, but for same price, I think this is better option. And it's bigger. And with this scale, I'm sure there will be upgrades

I have many fms rigs, 1/10, 1/18 and 1/24 and really have enjoyed running them and modifying them. There's a good growing aftermarket for them. The camel trophy rigs are the fcx24m platform like the Tacoma. I think the issue most have is they don't set the servo end points correctly on the 2sp transmission shift servo or have the first gen axles with week ring and pinion.
