@jojobeans The 2wd Traxxas Bigfoot doesn't use foams either, it's supposed to make the tires closer to real monster truck tires. My main concern is the shallow tread, old 2wd monster trucks had a nice, deep chevron pattern that would last forever and it work on dirt, gravel, asphalt, etc.

Tires aren’t that bad. I’m not pushing crazy power through it though. They’re good enough to the point I’m in no hurry to replace them.

I realize I am late to this party....was watching YouTube reviews on these and thought i would do a search to see if there was anyone that had it....and here I am.
Now that you have had some time with it, still think it was a good buy??

Oh yeah… it’s hard to beat for the price. Only thing I’d recommend is to order some servo savers as spares and go brushless as soon as possible. It’s painfully slow out of the box... if it’s your first hobby grade RC, it’ll probably feel pretty fast though. With the motor/eac combo I used, it has plenty of power on 2s for a HCG monster IMO and the drivetrain has no issues. Can’t comment how the drivetrain will hold up to a more powerful Hobbywing or castle setup though.

Everything else has held up great and I beat the absolute snot out of the poor thing last summer. Easily became one of my favorite bashers.

Good to know, thank you. If I get 1 it would be my first hobby grade rc that week....maybe

It’s very well built. It’s every bit as well built as the mountain of big name brand RC’s I’ve owned or currently own. I just hope FMS continues providing parts support for it long term. It’s such a good value for what you get.

Best of luck! Being your first RC… don’t forget tools, it’s one of those things that you don’t realize you need until you actually need them. 🤣 The included charger isn’t all that great. But, it’ll get ya started and works. As soon as you can, definitely pick up a Hota d6… that charger will carry you through the hobby as you inevitably end up buying more cars and batteries.

I appreciate the tips. I have a nice hitech charger, and a spektrum smart charger.
As stated....it would be my first rc that week.

I see what you’re saying. I misunderstood lol
I found the right deal on this fms truck tonight. Your input in this thread on shock oil etc should prove quite useful. Been a while since I have had a 1/10 scale 2wd monster truck...probably too long. The last over 10 years ago. I don't know why it's taken so long to fill that hole in my collection. I got the same one you did with the high roller body. I would have preferred the black edition....but the deal was on this model, I will get over it,lol.
