just tried it and i only had a 2s and the low battery warning goes off because there is only 7.4 volts in a 2s. i should have know that would happen because when you have new AAs in there it is over 10 volts so you have to have a 3s battery so you have enough volts to work the transmitter.i will be buying a 3s tommrow. damn that was stupid:\:\:whhooo:

yeah you have to have a 3S pack. The TX is designed to run on up to 8 alkaline AA's which is 12V. A fully charged 3S lipo is only .6V higher than that so it works pretty well. the TX has a 9V cut-off built into it but its not very loud and i would suggest getting one of those cheap low voltage alarms off of ebay and attach it to the lipo anytime you use it incase you forget to turn it off. Those LVAs will go off at 3.3V/C which is better for the pack and it louder. If yoiu get the skinner LVAs (they make a skinny one that only has one klaxon and a wider one that has 2 klaxons) the LVA will fit right up inside the handle.

I don't race just really a basher. So I figure it will work fine for me. I only usually run with my bro's maybe 4 trucks at a time. They all run old AM stuff though, don't know if there would be any interferance with the FM or not.

The radio is a 2.4GHz which is almost always not an FM, but a spread spectrum type which is why you have to bind a radio to a particular receiver.

I've got a 3s coming from ebay for 7$. less than the eight battery would cost ever time the transmitter dies! thanks for the idea for the lipo mod. it will save me a ton of loot.
