I ordered a 1100mm P51 Mustang to get back into planes, Its been a while since i flew a plane, I want to get a cheap simulator to knock the rust off, dont really wanna spend over 100 bux for it right now, but i did notice the cheaper ones online do not run well with Windows7, Anyone using any of the cheaper sims that will work on windows7?

I was looking at their planes a little while ago and I almost popped for the Airbus 380 with 4 ducted fan engines. It's out of stock but I MUST learn patience.

Patrick, have you tried the Clearview sim? It says it supports Win 7, and it's $40 here;

Also, I think I have a radio dongle for it somewhere. I'll let you know if I find it digging through the RC bin this weekend.

If you do buy that, and actually fly it, I would LOVE to come and watch it fly. The sound of 4 EDF's would be awesome!!

Randy, HAve you used the Clearview? It looks to be a decent Sim.

Patrick, I went through a few of the free ones before buying Phoenix, but I don't remember which ones they were to be honest. They have a free demo to download, so you can at least try it before giving them your $40. The screenshots look pretty decent for the price though. The one thing I always found lacking in free / cheap sims, was that the physics felt way off compared to the real thing.

Here's a free one BTW, that shows it has Win7 support

I managed to get Realflight for right at a hundred from Tower a couple years ago. Speaking of, I need to dust it back off and play it. I would really like to get back into flying again. It has been 4 years since I have flown anything.

I just download Phoenix from bittorent. Just waiting on my $14 Dongle from Hobbyking to get here so I can hook up my Flysky 9X TX to it and use Phoenix.

Yes, but it's illegal and can lead to all kinds of trouble. Big fines and suspension of internet service come to mind.

yup.........i started to try that but i think ill just buy one.

Not to mention, the authorization you'll need to get the software to run is tied to the radio dongle that comes with the software. Also, the more people that pirate it, screw us paying customers out of money the company can use to hire talent for our updates, etc. And this is all ignoring the legal ramifications.

I bought a dirt cheap one at the tolledo Show a couple of years ago and it was junk to put it nicely. All of the controls were reversed and couldn't swap them around.
There are some flight sims for free if you have an Android cell phone with both planes and heli's. For free, they're not bad.
