Got this from another pilot at the field, had a broken stabilizer and no info. Looks like it's the Freewing 64mm F-86. I fixed it up, swapped in a radiolink receiver, flew it with a 2200mah 3S and was pleasantly surprised - it practically climbed out of my hand on full throttle, and it out-climbs my Habu 50mm which is about the same size/weight.

I fashioned up some landing skids from scrap styrofoam and silver monokote, mainly to protect the wing servos during belly landings. I wound up putting it in a bush on my first flight where it suffered only a nick to the wing, had it trimmed out and expos set by the second so that it flies level without input at ~60% throttle. I separated the aileron channels to use as flaperons and have them both 25% down for hand-launch, it doesn't even dip after you throw it.

how fast it climbs is going to be on 2 things. its thrust and the dihedral of the wings

That looks very similar to the F-84 memorial sitting outside our local court house. I always loved seeing that plane when we went to town.

Stop buying more planes man!

Already skilled with flying jets. Well done!

A freebie! This one came out of a shed smelling of cut grass and gas fumes. I think I'm done buying planes for a while, but I can't turn down a free EDF. I like that all my electrics share the same battery. I'm reluctant to buy/acquire anything that adds to my logistics. I have just 3x 2200mah 3S batteries, and don't plan on getting anything larger than that, although the "whoosh" of big EDF's does tempt me

I remember saying something similar once, danged if some 4S & 6S planes didn't show up anyway. 🤣
