I'm going to give the RC8 the same review those sportsmans on youtube gave it. "It performs and handles great but it only lasted 15 minutes". In the vid they broke the upper control arm and I did the same except mine broke after like 8 laps...I was so happy becuase the car ran so great but so disappointed it ended so quick. It seemed like I barley rubbed the pvc pipe and snap. They did a shity job designing and picking the plastics for this upper control arm because having it snap like that is ridiculous..I wish they made this part in some sort of metal but they don't. Is there any way (other than not crashing) that I can prevent this from happening? Maybe some way to make this part stronger? The guy at a local hobby shop said usually these cars are pretty stong but recommended I losen up the spring on the servo ( i think) to give more leway on the arm.. What do you think?

Isn't it funny how 4hrs of frustration working on a broken RC will all go away with 10min of a good run??

I don't know a lot about the RC8 but i'm sure there has got to be some fix out there for it. Is your RC8 the one with the updates? I thought I saw one at the A-Main store and on the box it said "Includes Service Pack". At least I thought that was the RC8.

I'm not too sure but i bought it last week. I know it had the updated tank.

The arms hold up fine one the RC8's I have seen.
You did get this one used right? Maybe the part was already beat on.
Loosening the servo saver is a good idea if it is too tight.

OK, got you confused with some one else.
The only things i have seen break on a regular basis is the steering tie-rod ends.

Don't wreck! lol
Seriously, it is not that bad a problem. Buggies take tons of abuse.
You probably just got a bad part combined with cooler weather making all plastic more brittle.
I have a couple friends who race RC8's and they do not have issues with this. Only once and a while do they break and most of the time you can notice the part warping before it breaks.
These are the kind of parts you want to break... you install al. rod ends and then more expensive stuff starts breaking. Just my opinion though.

Thats the thing, I did not wreck. I was going 5mph and rubbed the pvc pipe and it snapped but like you said it was a combination of cold wheather and a bad part. It was like 70-75deg outside and these plastics are pretty hard to begin with. Yeah i know its not that bad a problem but when your on the track for a few minutes and something like this ends the day its a problem. I ordered a few extra parts though so I hope this does not happen again, or at least so quick...I'm going to boil the new plastics for 15 minutes to hopefully soften them up...
