went out to the bmx track today and brought along all my r/c's..including a savage 25, a big block t-maxx, a storm pro, a x-terminator buggy, and an rs4 ss. a friend who came along had his brand new storm SUT. well all i can say is...my two 1/8 buggies, in particular my storm pro...makes my other r/c's rather boring...there not as fast, dont handle as well, and just dont fly the same. not that i dont like my savage, when i go out to the bash spot with just it by itself i think its awesome, and my big block t-maxx is -almost- as fun as the savage..and the rs4 just plain looks cool while I'm railing at high speed around the parking blocks. but in comparison after running the x-terminator and storm right before...they just seemed...mild. my point??

I've said it before....1/8 scale buggys are the shizzy!!!

BTW my friends SUT was pretty bad ass....hes new so he didnt know how to jump at all...but watching him tear around the track i could tell itll smoke any other M/T....not that you can call the SUT an M/T.

Ya know I had thought about bashing at a BMX track. I remember a few from growing up but those are long gone. Maybe I'll start asking a few parents about where they might think one would be located.

PS: Glad you enjoyed your adventure.

Yup, I miss the days when schools would have a BMX track somewhere on the grounds. When kids would build them in the middle of the woods somewhere.
Not anymore, at least not around here in Charlotte. In Charlotte there is 1 that I know of, and it's not public, it's in the hood, and it's pay to play so that means no RC's only bikes.
Alkyula you're a lucky guy!

I'm thinking about buying a house in the near future and was thinking if I find one with enough land I could build a track for my buggies.

bmx was real big in my neiborhood growing up...so we had a few places in fields in the middle of trees or what not that we would go and build our own jumps and small tracks for our bmx bikes. all those places are either off limits now or have been built on by new housing. but at least i do have the bmx track that i can always run on unless there are races being held, which just friday night and sat afternoon for about 3 hours. there is an outdoor r/c track that is in process of being built right on the other side of the parking lot and is suposed to be done this spring. i can't wait for that....going to the same place for a nice competive r/c race and then going over to the bmx track just a parking lot away for huge air bashing on the bmx track would be great!

there is a few bmx trails aroud here you just gotta look for them. I'm wonting to build a track but i dont know what i need to have in order to do that.i have about 8 acres in my back yard, and a huge field right next to my house so i have a good place to build one but as i said befor i dont know how so if any one has any advice on how to do this i would appreciate it.

thanx

do you got a lot of determination, patience and blood/sweat? all you need is a shovel and a metal garden rake lol. got some extra cash? rent a bob cat (the tractor thing..not the ferocious beast), buy a few cases of your favorite brew, and call all the fellas up and go after what ever desighn you drew up on paper with a pencil (or with a stick in the ground after having a few too many beers.) hehe really what iused to do when i was younger for our bmx trails we would just use 5 gallon buckets to transport dirt..using a good old shovel...and pile it up were we wanted the jumps...and formed them nicely from the dirt piles. for the runways we would use a metal yard rake and rake away any grass/weeds and smooth out the path. lots of work but if you have your own land to do it on it would be a very nice pay-off.
