Hi Fellas!!
Well, I took my first trip to the track today. As I have said the owner of my LHS allows free use of his tracks. It is a small track that you can run an Oval...or turns, whoops, and a decent jump...I imagine that is a standard design...Anyway, One glaring flaw with my ride became apparent right away...It really pulls to the Right...BAD. I also was having some other issues with the steering...5 minutes with the LSH fella and I learned something new....I was keeping my pivot ball "holders" set too tight. Well now I have more steering than I know what to do with....but it was still pulling to the Right. Tonight I sat down and tried to straighten it out some...The Servos are not fighting each other so much as I messed up the alignment while working on it at some time.
Today’s purchases included the adjustable rear A arms and new axle carriers. I found a crack last week in the front right carrier and after coming up short on the jump...it popped out again so I changed it. Another victim or victims of my run today were the pro line bowties that I mounted on HPI rims. My glue did not hold and I blew out the bead on all of them...It appears the glue I chose sucks...or I did something wrong....Back to the drawing board on those I guess....
Anyway, I drove a little better than I thought I would and I finally experienced some "jumps"...I was able to put a few good laps together but the "pulling" issue made it tough to get a good run on the Oval. I was constantly fighting it and that made it tough to "set-up" for the turn like I wanted to...
Well the rear A arms are now installed and I like the stance it gives it. I may now be able to run a softer shock with out as much "sag". It appears that moving the wheels back took some of the weight off the rockers....It feels that way anyway, I won't know until I get it warmed up again and the shock oil get warm....Anyway, sorry for the length....just felt like writing about my day. I do have a new found respect for you guys that race...I am definitely going to put in some more practice time before I race. I have a long way to go...Thanks for reading....
