First Problem!!!

So i am trying to hook up my SR3300T to my revo 3.3 right now. I want to know why the stock traxxas servos do not plug into the rx. It is driving me crazy that I can't do anything about it right now. Anybody have so advice?

If it's because of the little plastic flange on the side, then yes, cut the flange off nice and smooth and you may have to bevel the edges a bit on the connectors.

Usually the dark wire goes towards the edge of the receiver.

that is exactly what I just did, is there a different type of servo like the Hi-tec servos, do they have the little plastic flange? I hope not because soon I want to upgrade to them.

Hi-tec doesn't have that flange. I think it's a futaba thing. Traxxas servos are futaba servos I think. Same spline and connector...

i got all the flanges cut off, but for the stock dual servos, without using a y-splitter as I dont have one, am I able to use both servos like the stock rx? i only see the aux channel as another plug to use but I tried it and i only moves the servo one way and for the other way I need to flip the aux channel switch on the side on the tx. any advice?

No. Need the y-splitter I think. Or a better understanding of the remote setup. Why don't you have a splitter? Didn't you take one off to put the new receiver in? My stock receiver required the splitter...

nope, dumb traxxas used the 2.4 ghz is my revo because i got the newest one the 5309, and on that rx it has two ports for channel 1 which is steering so I think i am going to get a y-splitter or a new single servo to use. Hmm, $5.99 or $84.99?? what to buy? haha but another thing now that I used the SR3300T. I installed everything on it to my revo with only one servo plugged in and the turning really didnt change much without the other. But, i plugged in the steering, throttle, temp gauge, and the rx batt pack. I went outside and tested the temp gauge for the telemetry and adjusted it so that it was accurate to my hand held temp gauge. I started the truck and just did some small speed runs to get the temps up to running temperature. Here is my problem, the servo is twitching and lagging when hit the throttle. I will punch it and the servo will wait a second or two, then go. And when i stop with no throttle the servo twitches a little bit sometimes. Is this common? How can i fix it? sorry for the long post but it seems like you know a lot about this tx olds. Thanks!!

Sorry, I don't. I have the older DX3.0. Are you sure your stock radio didn't cause the servo to be weird? The stock t/b servo is fairly weak and the FS spring that traxxas uses puts a lot of strain on it causing it to bind the linkage, carb and cause the servo's to fail early in their life.

oh, ok thanks for the input. I think i am going to pick up a y-splitter and a cheap servo that is stronger than the stock and install that and see what happens. Thanks again olds!

A lot of guys ditch the stock throttle servo and use one of the steering servos instead. Then they install a good single servo for steering.

I use the hitec 985MG servos for both. They are water resistant (o-rings on case halves, screws and output shaft) which I like since I run in the winter. They are also pretty strong and quick.

They are 995 servos if the link doesn't work.

Their centering isn't that great though, but if your on a tight budget, you'll be hard pressed to find anything as strong/fast. I have on in my jato for steering and have used it for a couple years.
