I'm brand new into this hobby and was wondering what i should do to my new Lightning. How are the stock settings with the shocks and springs? would the kyosha super capacity fuel filter be a good choice for this buggy. how is the stock air filter and cooling head. Could someone possibly give me a good rundown of everything that i should do before i run it for the first time. One more question that i have is what is the stock gear ratio and where is the best place to find different sizes. Thanks in advance and hopefully i get all my questions answered. This place seems great.

Dude, you honestly could have put all of your posts into one instead of spreading them out... using a title like, few questions for a newB. Anyway, the SEARCH button should become your new best friend. All of these questions get addressed about 3 times a week. Search for these topics on the boards and you will find a wealth of information. I personally don't have any hands on experience with the Lightning so I really can't help you with what needs to be done to the shocks and/or anything else. As far as the Kyosho fuel filter, ANY fuel filter is a good choice in my opinion. I use a "stone" type of filter and it works out great.

It should be fine to run, but later down the road you might want to upgrade some things. A fuel filter is always a good thing to have and those along with gears you should be able to find at www.towerhobbies.com And yes, the search button is your friend :)
