Now that my car is broken in, I can open it up a bit. :D I took it out a couple of times this weekend. I couldn't resist hitting the snow bank a couple of times, producing some awsome jumps.

The only thing I dont like are the clips that hold my body on. Now that I have made my body cutouts, I wanna keep my body on at all times. The body mounts are these plastic 3/16" round nubs that poke through. You then stretch these codder pins around the post and that holds the body on.

However, the first time you catch some air and land the thing on it's roof, you find yourself digging in the snow for the four plastic washers and the four codder pins that popped off in the crash.

I was thinking to myself, if the stupid body mounts had holes drilled in them, I could put the codder pins through the holes. Then, the pins would never fall off. The mounts, however, are just too small for this. They are not thick enough.

Has anyone had this problem with their body? Is there a solution?

I have a maxx, so my body posts have holes in them, but they occasionally still pop off. What I do for easier location when they do go is this:

1. Take a zip tie and zip it around the codder pin
2. Cut a small piece of fuel tubing(you can make it as big as you like I guess) and slip in on the zip tie.
3. Take another zip tie and lock it down on the other right up to the fuel line, snip the excess off of both zips and there you go, little handles for the codder pins

If I had holes i think i'd be much better off. The zip tie thing is a good idea. yet, as I don't have holes, I think the whole thing would slide off anyway. Maybe I'll take the smallest drill bit I have and see if I can ventalate my posts.

thx

RPM makes a nice set of plastic body clips. They come in packs of five. Four for body mounts and one for the antenna. They've taken a helluva beating, and the body never came off. These were on a buggy tho... And yes, it flipped alot. They might be what you need. I'm pretty sure they have a 3/16" size also. Maybe checl you lhs for them. :)

I looked for such things on tower just to see. These look cool:

but the design implies you have a hole in your body mounts.

My LHS sucks... guy is a snob.

Which proves that a good LHS is worth it's weight in gold, and why so many have trouble getting and staying in this hobby. I have come across so many LHS that are run by compete J Holes, and it makes me want to spit. I actually sat and listened to this owner give some kid complete misinformation, and after he was finished, I tolod him to come here to get the info he needed.

the owner is an obvious rc plane addict (he has the logo for his hobby shop panted on the back of his chevy van). I'm sure he knows his stuff but he just looks at me with contempt like I'm wasting his time.

Part of the problem is that I didn't buy my ride there. Why throw away $30? I think if I told him what I had, he'd hate me worse cause I didn't get it from him. If I don't tell him he thinks I have no business there. oh well

Our LHS owner is traxxas biased. And doesn't seem to know tooooo aweful much about the other models. Or the fact that the RC10 IS more agile than the tmaxx. :) I learned that at his races :) You get your good ones and bad ones, just like everything else. A good smart owner is the best thing to have, or at least smart members :)

Man the good lhs is like finding a needle in a hay stack from what I see. There is 3 with in 30 minutes of me used to be one down the street but he went out of biz. I just go in to the local jerks look to see if they got what I need and leave I dont pay them no attention just walk in tell them what you need if they aint got it leave...X

The closest hobby shop to me is over an hour drive each way, and X just summed it up perfectly for me, see if they have what I need and leave. To get any useful information out of them is not gonna happen.

I've got like 6 shops within a half hour from my house and out of those there are only 2 that are worth anything but those 2 have helped me out quite a bit, the others I dont even talk to anyone I just walk in look to see if they have what I need then leave

sounds like I'm not alone. :D I'm gonna start buying nitro at my LHS cause shipping sucks, but other than that I think I'll stick to tower.

I used to have a hobby shop within walking distance, but there closed for good and the nearest hobby shop is 1/2 hour drive

My lhs was closed on sunday, but I needed a servo. I had to drive to a hobby shop in allentown. Nice folks lots of rc nitro car stuff... too bad they are an hour+ drive.
