Hey everyone I have been workind on my T-Maxx for over 3 months adding a couple upgrades here and there and trying to just get it to run I finally got it completly tuned right and was the first time I ever was able to run it running good then I hit the throttle and all of a sudden It takes off tearing down the street uncontrolable. It then plows into a fence post at top speed and explodes into pieces this just happened!!! It broke both A-Arms the bulk head, tie rod end and snaps both of my new aluminum shocks in 2 I had never even jumped it!!! I'm so freaking bummed out now and totally broke and unemployed because of a bad car accident that I was in, that jacked me all up so I can't work . I had sold alot of stuff on ebay to build my beast. Oh well sh@% happens lol My advice dont run your truck with out a fail safe unfortunatly I found out the hard way anyway here is what left of my poor truck :nono:

That is a tough lesson learned. But it is learned all the same. It's never pretty. The positive side is that it can be fixed eventually. And next time you'll know better. Always check your tx and rx batteries and run with a failsafe. Anyway, I hope you get it fixed soon.

Thanks man I'm a stupid newbie lol but it wont happen again so frustrating!!

I was just so excited after many many hours I finally got it running and very good you should have seen that thing go tearing down the street hehe

I'm really glad it diddnt hit someone or do damage to someones car or other property just left a big skid mark up the pole it hit.

That's the lucky part. No one else was involved. To me, that's all good. Oh, and don't consider yourself stupid. Because I did the same thing. Luckily mine made it across a busy road without getting hit and ended up stuck in a bush..

Mine did good until that pole jumped out and bit it :(

Boy am I glad u dont fly RC or Full size lol. Well like he said stuff happens I have ripped a tire off busted a few arms and bulkheads. The best thing is it is easy and cheap to replace parts.

If you want to know how incredibly FAST your car can run, you always find out during an uncontrolled runaway.
Another lesson, the colder it is, the more damage it sustains. Parts that flex in the summer heat get hard and brittle when it's cold out.

Not to bright, just playing w/ ya, I had an Impulse w/ a nova .15 and a lot of aluminum get away from me and hit the corner of a curb square doing about 58mph need I say more $180+ in damage, hopefully you get it going soon I've had two maxxes and they are aweome check out my photos!good luck!!

Except for the shocks it looks like most of your other pieces are still stock Traxxas parts. Those run fairly cheap so maybe if you sell a couple pints of your blood (har, har) you'll be back on the road again. I was reading your other thread about the engine troubles and it now sounds like you got that issue handled!!!

I'm sorry about what happened.. it just seems so funny to me..and then i realize geez thats a crap load of parts and money.. i feel for ya.

sums it all up

Don't be to hard on yourself... every single one of us has probably had that happen at least once or twice... in my case, twice. Although, the second time, it was the receiver switch's fault.

The first time it happened was the second week into this hobby with a xxx-nt. Who knew that when the batteries get wet (battery box full of water in the snow) that they go dead almost instantly? Mine took off and went into an apartment complex's car port building. Hit a 4x4 post, snapped the front end almost completely off, then it spun in circles at WOT banging into everything... very sad day :(

welcome to RCing.. You have ALOT more breakage in your future. Alot more time putting it back together, etc.

Sorry it happen so soon and your bummed. I've been there. Matter of Fact I so want to run My maxx in the snow now but I dont have a Fail Safe. Do I still run. ya now and then. but thats one of the next things on my list.

I almost feel guilty for guiding you through the steps to make it run right.
If it didn't run, you could only run into things at slightly above idle, and it would have stalled anyway.
I'm sorry.
:sorry:

Yeah Rolex, it's all your fault. This kind of thing NEVER happens to a Radio Shack....

Oh, great. Now I'm getting beaten on by another mod over this. There should be some kind of a rule about that.
Shoot, Candyman. I told him I was sorry. What more do you want? :whack:
Now it's your job to help him out with the repairs.

Rolex sure knows how to get rid fo the competition...advise him on one thread for days on how to tweak an out of tune motor, and then when the dude wrecks it, advise him on another thread, "maybe I should have not helped him"... :jk:

Yeah I guess it could have been worst. I do still have the stock shocks so that one good thing as for the rest of the parts I will just wait for the T-Maxx fairy to drop them off for me hehe. I defiently got the engine probs fixed man that thing is fast it second gear and that was the last I seen of it untill I found it mangled next to the fence post. The shock flew almost 30 feet further than the truck went lol. I went back later on after I had calmed down and looked for the smaller pieces.
