Went to the docs today with my newest Mri pics and they found a extremely bad damaged disk, I'm so glad they finnaly figured it out after two freaking years!!! My doc then had me go next door where they gave me a corrizone/steriod shot directly in the bad disk to possibly help relieve the pain temporarly!!! Man that hurt so freaking bad I almost passed out I still feel like hell and that was almost 4hrs ago. I have had 14 of these shots so far but before they where not sure where the damage was for sure grrrr. The other 13 I was put out and diddnt feel a thing aaaaaaaggggggggg that hurt!! They are going to send me to more physical theropy to try to make my muscles stonger around the disk and mabe help take away the pain, if that dont work they are going to do surgery. I dont care what they do now I just want it fixed and over and done with!!! I have one thing to say Wear your seat belts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was injured in a rearend accident that shoved us into another car, I hurt my back/ neck and had to have sugery on my shoulder. It would have been way worst if I hadnt been wearing my belt.Anyway even though I'm hurting like hell right now I'm so relieved they found the problem  after test after test. I have had 3 Mri's a cat scan a bone scan and a bunch of other poking and jabbing lmao

i hope you feel better soon . this is why i always wear my seat belt the ones that i go with they just laught at me let us know how the physical theropy gos thanks curtis

Thanks guys, At least they have an idea now what they need to do to fix the problem. I think everyone thought it was in my head

its good to see that you have relief of your problem. My aunt has similar problems with her knee the shots work but she had to do the surgery anyway. one day you are gonna wake up andcall your doctor to schedule your appointment. I'm not trying to put you dowqn its just a personal experience.

Yeah I know I've already got it set in my head that I will probally will have surgery they just want to try what ever they can first before going to that.I wish they would just fix it and get it over with, the shots are basicly just meds that help you for the time being and will wear off and the pain will come back been there done that lol

My wife had a spinal tap last year when we went to the ER for her migraine... she almost blacked out. It took them 35-40 minutes of stabbing at her spine to get the needle in and to get the fluid drawn...

If it was anything like that, I really feel for you.

It was all I could do to not clock the damn dr!

I had 3 cortisone shots to the 6-7 disk after suffering for 2 years. I wouldn't do this again, worst pain I have ever felt. You are being told not to move or you could be parylised and then it feels like they rip your leg off and beat you close to death. After surgery to remove the buldging disk I have felt great since (8 years ago).

I definitely feel for you.

Whatever you do, dont have anything FUSED... I dont know if this would pertain to your condition, but my Sister In Law just had a procedure done by these guys, & was very happy with the outcome.. She walked out the same day...

My brother had a really bad flu and then he had a terrible seizure. They had to do a spinal tap on him and also a MRI and a bunch of other stuff. They thought there was much more stuff than a flu and seizure cuz he didn't even remember my mom's name when they asked him!

Yeah I dont even want to go through it again, I have had 14 total 2 of them I was wide awake one of those was done to day the rest the put me out but when I woke up it hurt like hell. I can't go to sleep for anything right now they said that was one of the side effects, and my back hurts way more now than it did before I went in , they said it can take up to a couple weeks before it works.

I'm sure it was close to the same thing, I just squeezed down on the operating table as hard as I could so I wouldnt knock him the fudge out lol. I also bit down hard , now even my freaking teeth hurt. This is about how I feel right now :microwave lol

well i hope the therapy works for ya but IMHO it wont

i have had 5 back surgeries in the last 4yrs and i still have the same pains as i did

before the surgeries,shots,therapy and all.

and if ya think those shots hurt if they mention a milogram (spelling)? RUN!!!!!!! lol

worst pain I've ever had

anyway good luck to u i hope that the therapy works for you and u dont have to have surgerie , i think it just makes it worse in the long run

Man that sucks,My mom had the same thing i forget which disk it was,but but the pain was to a point where she could not get out of bed or get up if she layed down. She went through four of those shots and each time it was worse, they sent her to Physical Theropy which didnot help and at the piont surgery was not a option since she could not work and we did not have good heaqlth insurence since my dad is self employed contracter. So after about a month in pain from the P.T, she decided to go to a chiropracter and they took X-rays took make sure they could do sumthing for her,And they could so ever since she has be going she has no pain unless she throws her back out doing sumthing she should not be doing and she satrted going to the chiropracter about 5-6 months ago.My dad started have the same problems with his back after the 2003-04 winter from sitting in the truck all time plowing and he went to the chiropracter and it helped him to he is pain free.

Just out of curosity what is bad about having a fusion? They where actually talking about doing that? It would be nice to do what your sis in law did but I have to do what my auto insurance will cover. Right now I have about every bill collector calling wanting the money and I can't work right now very frustrating.

Unfortunatly the chiopractor wont help my problem :( I went to one for over 6 months after the car accident and it diddnt help much.

I didn't sleep for 2 days after the shots but I crashed hard after that. 1 shot every Thursday for 3 weeks, I was a mess. I had the headaches but I was taking Tylenol3 (Codeine) so I wasn't bothered with them.

I hope you feel better soon
:doc: . . .

One thing I found out after everything was done but the bills; is you can reduce the payment by asking. My lawer called and said I am willing to pay Immediately but it would only be half the cost and everyone accepted. A check was cut from my insurance payout and the hospital and doctors signed a release that said payment was in full for the amount collected. It was well worth asking because I pocketed the rest.

The bills i was talking about was my morgage and utility bills. I havent been able to work for 2 yrs the insurance company paid lost wages for the first year and we just do our best to get by since then. The insurance has covered everything as far as medical thank god!! My injections alone have cost 10 grand!!!
