I posted this in another thread but thought I'd get more answers or ideas here

I'm having issues w/ the front end diving......I can roll it across the floor w/ a gentle push and it moves easy......the brakes are definately not dragging and My axle carrier bearings are new.....any other suggestions on what to check for???
It sort of looked like the ass was hoping from the suspension and I was told to stiffen it up more....I wanted to make it super mushy.....

Also I geared this thing in the mud....real low gearing....it will jump on the throttle something evil.....I'm running a VZ-b and it doesn't seem to have the upper RPM range....I was thinking of the P5 short stroke.....any ideas/suggestions on High RPM mills.....or can I run an on-road mill off road??? what are the differnces between the 2 that would make one more suitable for road driving??? I figure it was just higher RPM range for the road mills......I'm hoping to race this beast once before end of season.......

I would say stiffen up the front springs. Whats happening is the front doesn't' have time to spring back before -you peak, and the rears pop back up because there is no weight, sending your rear up in the air. Either softer springs in the rear or stiffer up front. I would stiffen up the front.

The P5 is not considered a high revving engine, although it does hold its own. WS72/3 C5, and Vspec are high revvers, but since you have the p5 I'd try that.

well I have the P5 long stroke.....if I'm right the longer stroke will give more torque from the higher compression and the short stroke should rev higher...I like the long stroke inmy buggy but I need more RPMs now.....it doesn't like the 14t CB and th e13 is a little slow on the bottom....w/ a 12t it real froggy.....I can dump th ethrottle halfway up a jump and it gets the power to clear some big stuff......but I run out of th eupper range RPMs mor ethan I want to.......I wish I had a cameraman last nite...I caught a buggy on the straight and since it has the beefy Ti kick plate in front it just pushes right onto whatever the kick up can get over......so I got onto a buggy and it looked like I was gettin some from him.......it was funny........just the way the bumps were timed it really looked like it was ramming him......anyway what's the poop on the on-road mills vs off road mills...is there any reason I couldn't use a Rossi .21 on road engine in a truggy????

I"m not sure about onroad stuff, but I'd assume as long as it doesn't have ceramic bearings you would be ok.

I was looking at this one or a 421bx....

any good sites for pricing these...my searches give me more crap from anything but places selling them......Rush doesn't have em listed but I know he'll have a good price on either one......and my LHS site is down right now...

thanks guys.....the 421 looks like the winner in what i'm seeing......I'd love to have another Fantom .27 that revs like the old one....I'm just very dissapointed at the longevity of that mill....

try out a nova 528 xrp or xr instead. the 421 can be a finiky engine to tune, and the 528 just has more power for your money.

I'm looking at something that will just have an unreal RPM range.....I'm geared so low it won't take much torque from the engine.....I can raise my idle just a hair and the slightest clutch engagement starts it going real easy...and I'd say it winds out in like 25 ft or so.....the OS isn't what I'm planning on running in it for a raace.....I did look at the .28 rossi....that is definately in the running......what's your take on my P-5 short stroke theory???? I definately like the long stroke in my buggy.....and it holds a tune all day long.......I hear the P5x versions are even easier to tune....

try running the p5 with a 13t bell and the jp-2. if thats not enough, the 528 is the way to go. also, 2 stroke engines are backwards from 4 strokes, a long stroke engine makes high rpm power and the short strokes make low end torque. heck even something like a mach .26 would get your truck moving in a hurry.

I run th elong stroke in my buggy and it is just unreal top end....I catch guy s w/ RBs and V-specs.....I was wondering why mine was so friggin fast....I always thought the long was more torque since you have more volume each stroke.....I agree a Mach would definately scoot it...but I'd rather have something I can rely on for longer than 8 gallons......those Machs seem to get trashed prettty quick but haul ass until they do....I never had one.....just seethem every where......I'm seriously considering doing a road motor in it......I was looking at Rossi engines claiming 44500 RPMs.....I know I don't need much torque since it weighs less than my buggy and it's geared so low.....I just want to spin that fiddlesticker out......I'd love to get another Fantom .27 like th efirst one I had....no issues and it was a speed demon......I was hanging w/ 421b mods........
