I just got an LRP 28, I'd reccomend it for anyone whos looking for an engine that holds a tune very well, easy wheelies, and speed. can't comment on other engines, this is my first engine over .18, besides the 4.6. Goodluck man!

Well, the LRP28S3 is a good engine for $175:

Was kind of hard to find one in stock though. I think the LRP30 must be replacing it or something. Of course, the 30 sells for $199.

The losi 454 (LST XL Engine) is supposed to be the same as the LRP28S3. However, it seems Horizon has jacked the price on it a bit to $199.99.

WOW. about what olds said! i am not seeing any of that. my axial ideled very nice throu break in, but was very sluggish. i did not see any power and was very unhappy untill 1 gallon after that it was like christmas every time i run it. it keeps gaining more and more power "low and High" this mill will pull a wheelie when it shifts to second. may be they have changed some things with them.dose anybody know because what i have read I'm not seeing and hope i dont!!! any way I'm just trying to help I'm still a newbe so probly not the best one to take advice from.but good luck:)
 
What really sucked for me is I sent it back to axial. They said it looked ok, exceptionally clean and no signs that the break-in was done improperly. That was around the 1 gallon mark. I burned another 1/2 gallon and gave up on it. Fuel at the time was $35 a gallon for 20%. I wasn't about to continue wasting fuel and time on a $100 engine.

It was my first and only personal axial experience. Until I witness an axial or two personally to prove otherwise, I won't be laying down my cash to try it again.
 
I still say the LRP. You can find one off of eBay for around 175 shipped. It's a great engine, easy to tune, holds a tune. I've heard that the Axial is a hit-or-miss engine. You either get a good one, or you don't. From what I've heard, lots of misses. Your decision though.
