This is just to give everyone a lil heads up. Do not use the hpi ribbed pipe with the fantom .27. i used it and blew 1 motor and almost another because no matter how much you open the hsn you can not get the temps under 250. i put the metal hpi dual camber pipe on it an dthe temps dropped down to 210 and alot more power.
 
whoa did you check if your pipe has anything stuck in it that could obstruct its flow? Sounds a bit odd.
 
yeah I use the ribbed pipe on my Fantom and it's bad ass.....I had to set my controller expo to act as slow as possible on the bottom so I could get the wheels to bite....my temps rarely go over 250 on it as well...only if I'm beating the piss out of it.....sounds like your PIPE was defective dude....
