You could have went the route I did and get a family sized truck it hauls around the entire family 4 kids wife and our dog :D Its a 1987 Suburban,at least you wont be visiting the gas station no where near as much as I do. It will only run on the highest octane, . It usally cost me around $85.00 to fill the tank at it gets around 15 to 17 mpg. Mini vans are not that bad and very comfortable, and It would be so nice to have a dvd player to keep the rugrats occupied on long trips.

this bad boy only runs 94 octane, gets 13mpg because i can never drive slow in it, and eats driveline parts for breakfast. i know your pain Jesse.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude don't do it. Not matter how many hp, no matter the DVD player it is still a mini van. Sorry.

Two suggestions. The Subaru Forester XT 2.5 or the Legacy 3.0R Wagon. Much better than minivans :) AWD is safe for a family wink nod wink nod.

Jesse, that's not the car you got hit in, was it?
No the car we had was a 1980 oldsmobile and it was totaled out, If we had been in this I probally would have walked away with out a scratch lol, but the other guy who hit us at 55 mph in a Toyota Corrola would have been hurting a lot worse then he was.

lol it makes you almost cringe when you have to go the the gas station doesn't it? And I know what you mean about eating drive line parts, My Suburban is broken right now, blew out second and third gear in it  , and It blew the rear end out once too.

I was trying for a Mustang or the new Eclipse, but the wife wasn't having it.

Drive it in reverse! :trashed:
lol or I could go around 25 or 30 in first gear, we had to do that for about 15 miles when this happend, we where almost 75 miles away from home with our 4 kids, It was around 2 am we had just left the stock car races. I drove about 10 miles at 20 mph and got pulled over, found out my license had expired on my B-day June 16. So then the wife drove and she got pulled over about 2 miles away from where I had, What a bad night we finally got home at 5 am when my father in law came and picked us up .

I think I should go with what Team 17 did and get a mini van lmao!

What could you have gotten pulled over for, driving too slow? Did they cite you ? Bizarre.

My in-laws have a mint condition Ford Windstar minivan for sale. It has 60,000 miles on it, (1999) and I think they are asking 6500.00. They are not trying too hard to sell it as they travel a lot (retired) and are not home much to sell it. I almost bought it as a daily driver. Seems like it would be a good way to not depreciate my 3 other nice new(er) cars.

Well I must be a super tool, because I have 2 mini vans.

My older one is a 1997 Astro conversion van.
My newer one is a 2004 Ford Freestar Limited.

I thought the Ford looked like a dork mobile, and I'm sure I look like an ass driving it.
Let me tell you guy's something.
It is one of the best riding cars that I have ever driven.
And being a Limited, it has every feature you can think of.

Good luck with your new ride Ed.

i already have a blown 3rd gear in my collection, and its in the shop right now for an obliterated CV joint. it was only 7k miles old. apparently its limit was 17psi as i was reeling in the crotchrocket. thank god for my soon to be sister in law with her AAA+ at 11:30 at night this past sat.

how much boost can your engine handle?
my escort was supposedly made to handle 25 but we never went past 14......adjustable wastegate :D...never even new those existed until I saw it........

the engine is built for 20psi plus nitrous, or 25ish+ without nitrous, apparently the trans isnt.

I think they might have thought I we where drunk or something since we where driving on the side of the road at 25 mph and the speed limit was 65. There is nothing for miles around the race track and they serve beer there so I'm also guessing thats why they thought I had been drinking. They where really cool though and just gave me a warning about my expired license and told me to let the wife drive because the next cop might not be so nice and could give me a ticket. When my wife got pulled over 2 miles away, lol we told him we had just go pulled over down the road and we described what the other cop looked like, he said he knew him and wished us luck, he even offered to call a tow truck, But we knew there was a town about 10 miles up the road and figured we could call for help there. We diddnt want to be able to get the kids all home safe and sound :)
