After thinking long & hard, I finally gave in & bought the new Family car. The Toyota Sienna. Very nice van with V6 3.3L 230HP. Kids love it, especially the DVD player. But overall, I would have liked a truck! But NO, the wife coerced me in getting into a van. So now I feel old, but the bright side of it is, all my RC's will fit!

Ya, our family vehicle is a Honda Oddesy (the generation prior to present) I sometimes feel sorry for my dad at times having to drive it, lol. I would've prefered a SUV tho...

Yeah & they take your ass as u leave!

My future wife has already told me that we will never own a minivan. I am currently looking for my new wheels and I have narrowed it down to a Tahoe or a Super Duty with a powerstroke. Either way I go she has said that it has to have 4 doors.

Soccer mom van, you should of got a big SUV like a Chevy Tahoe or somthing similer but it looks like your family likes it,

LMAO...this thread is too funny....T17 I don't see anything wrong with it...it gets you around and your family safe....AND has a built in kid quiter to boot......I'm thinking of a Matrix so I have no room to make fun of anyone on their car choices.....

Ha your a proud owner of a mormon assault vehicle, your stuck with it for life.

Well guys, I'm with plaid on this one! Our next vehicle is a MiniVan, I have a trailblazer and whenever I go to the pump I have to sit down when I see the price to fill it up. I have yet to see 20mpg with it. NOT IMPRESSED. My wife said that she will never own a minivan, but I've told her otherwise ;)

yeah I'm seriously lookin at gas mileage on cars now...I think I'll be getting something a lil more economical next...and soon w/ th eway gas prices are now....my truck hates anything but premium...I get spark knock that drives me up a tree......I lent my mom the truck to move some plants and she got it washed and filled it up....w/ 83octane......bitch...and yes it's got new coil/wires/plugs...still knocks any suggestions cause 2.50/gal SUCKS

Hang in there Team17. You'll love that thing. I'm on my fourth mini van (sad I know), but they are great.

Last June we picked up a new Honda Odyssey, we liked the Toyota also, but it came down to the deal. The built in DVD w/wireless headphones is better than sex!

I tried my best to come to terms on a Suburban....thank god that didn't happen....now, when I pull up beside one at a stoplight...I look over and grin knowing I'll retire at least two years earlier than if I had bought one of those behemouths.

lol, "no honey i never said anything about that..."

we got an 03 GMC Yukon Denali, i love the car, and my dad put a Corsa on it!!! sweet

I actually kinda liked the one minivan we had.A early 90's Voyager. Had a 3.3 in it so it was not a COMPLETE slug, and when you have 3 kids all the room is nice. And screw SUV's with less than 20mpg. When you have 3 kids you can't afford that!! Most of the smaller to mid size SUV's dont really have much room in them either. My brothers new 2 door Sliverado is nice, but pricy and pulling up to the pump would kill me.

Hey, just think, minivan equals more room to carry R/C crap to the races.

Unfortunately my wife and I are not blessed with children so we really have no need for the extra seats, although the extra hauling room comes in handy. We rented a minivan when we went to Branson, MO a couple of years ago. Loved the way it rode and handled, plus the room and space to move around was nice. In-laws have 4 grandchildren, so they just bought an '06 Honda Odyssey with the variable piston engine. On their first trip to Idaho they got 26 MPG, not bad for a V6. They had a 2000 Ford Windstar which they say never got over 20 mpg.

We had a 2001 Tahoe and it got about 18 hwy. Sold it 10 months ago and all I have heard since then from the wife is "I miss my Tahoe", although this is the gal riding around town in a 2003 Volvo C70 convertible, so for mother's day I got her a 2005 Envoy Denali. Same V8 as they Tahoe, but 800 lbs lighter. That thing cooks, but only gets about 20 hwy. But so does the Volvo, so either way, she is costing me money in gas. I also have an '04 Wrangler with the 6 cyl. Because I ordered it with the real low gears, that thing sucks through the gas, too, at about 14mpg, and the darn thing can hardly hit 75 mph. Thanks God I have a car leased by my employer. When gas gets real expensive we just use that more as they pay for it all.

mini vans arent that bad really,my moms aerostar should be rolled off a cliff, she had a grand caravan that was nice, drove nice,i liked it,and that thing was a rocket, we took my grandpas silverado to the pump and about died when it cost over $60 to fill the tank and the millage sucks,i can't belve a chevy 350 gets that bad of milleage.
