Hi tech servo's are good for the money and last a while. My fail safe I use in my trucks is a duratrax and I have not had a run away since. I also run throttle return springs just incase I loose power at the reciever.
Couldn't say. I really like hitec 985MG's. Fast, sealed with o-rings, strong and seem to have good life. Whenever I buy a new servo, I him and haw about what to get, but always seem to end up with the 985. $70 though.
Those are decent servos above. I've had good luck with Ofna and Duratrax fail safes. You also can't could out these servos by Hobbico. I have both and are solid digital servos. Just a re-badged Hitec. 190 Oz for $39 333 Oz for $89
You sure those are hitec? I've never bought a hitec that had white/red/black wires. All were braided yellow/red/black. Futaba, airtronics and traxxas use that w/r/b type though.
The 170 does have the yellow/black/red braided wires. It is a real good servo. I have it is three right now. The you could be correct on the 150 though. Maybe that one did take a Futaba arm. Now I am curious. Anyway I use in a buggy and has prenty of power for the thin tires.
They used to be a basher "go to" servo, but honestly, there are quite a few out there for $50 that are stronger/better for steering a maxx. The 645MG is better than stock, but not a lot.
