the only thing I didn't like about the 4 shoe is when I burn shoes and don't have spares I have to wait.....and same for springs.....when you have over gearing issues the 4 shoes tend to melt much faster do to the smaller mass/shoe...they heat up and just turn to liquid......and the mugen shoe trick does work better but it's just a PITA to cut em...and you will screw up a lot doing them......but it does engage much better than the 3 shoe setup I ran for a while.....you should try tuning your clutch w/ shoe and spring combinations before buying a new setup though

As for 3 shoe clutches, i can only get hold of one type of spring and shoe suitable for a 3 shoe clutch, so I'm kinda stuck with em. thats why i was looking at upgrading to 4 shoe. now you said that tho, i dont think i'll bother, sounds like too much hassle. PLUS, i could do without anything being a FPITA i have enough of a PITA from the "Management" without giving myself even more of one. lol

the 4 shoe setup wasn't the problem w/ melting shoes...I had my truggy geared like a buggy for racing....so the gearing was too high....on the low end it would just let the shoes drag too much before it engageed....I'd get 2 - 3 tanks and I had liquid shoes......I still use the 4 shoe setup on the truggy but I had to modify it to accept lower gearing......works like a champ now.....I was just saying the 3 shoe setup might be a lot less hassle in the long run.......

AHHH, ok then, better stick with 3 shoe for now then i guess
