I ruined my first engine that came in my rtr RC10. Is it worth the money to get a new one using the lifetime gaurentee? When I first got it, I could not even get it started. The LHS got it started but could not keep it from stalling. So I ran it lean and killed it in about an hour. Needless to say my experiance with it was not good. I am wondering if I got a lemon. Thanks

I say get a new mill for it. OS makes reliable engines. I have used both the OS .12 CV-Rx and .15 CV-R. They hold a tune well and pretty easy to tune. No matter what you do, get a temp gun for tuning!Keep the temps between 220-270F.

I'm a bit torn. I had an original RC10GT RTR and I thought the AE/TTR .15 that it came with was a good engine. Didn't give me too many troubles. Remember that new engines ARE tough to start. I just about tore 2 layers of skin off trying to get my OS .15 started. So just be patient. And be very meticulous about breakin. A bad breakin will kill your engine. I don't know how much a trade-in is. A new OS .15 will set you back close to $150. Yeah, they're good engines. I have them in both my cars. But just like I said, bad breakin will kill an OS, too. Just a bit of food for thought...

I have the OS 15 cv-r(x) in my losi xxx-nt. Good power all day long. Easy to tune as well. I have 6 gallons through the engine and it still keeps up pretty well with my friends maxx with a 21 OS RG in it.

Of course it's lighter and at the time, he wasn't very good at driving, but on a hole shot, it would beat him. Once the maxx got up to speed and hit second, he would loose me, but that's only because a tall geared maxx has long legs.
