Hello.
Looking For Advice For A Excellent Upgrade Engine For A RS4-S Over The Stock Nitro Star .15 FE. I Prefer A Close To, Or Direct Drop In .12 Or .15.

Thank You
C3Racing0082.

That's OS area. I think the OS 18 CV-RX should fit just ine. It's got the same footprint as their .15 CV-RX.

A hell of a lot better! The .15fe was what came in my brother's Super Nitro Rally. He switched it out for the OS 15. CV-RX and it ran great. It's got gobs more power than that 15 FE, that's for sure.

You got to agree with Diver that is the best suggestion on the motor.
O.S. makes great engines they are very reliable, durable especially for the price you pay for it.you get your money's worth

You are limited to rotary card, side exhuast engines if a direct drop in is what you require. With your kit came the radio horns to convert to a slide carb which I recomend as is gives you more options. You can try this direct drop in, it will have way more power than the FE .15 SS

.18 for 99.99 sweet. might get one just for parking lot fun!! .15 is the largest i can use for legal comp racing isn't it?

legal racing limit is a .12 however most racing mills use a rear exhaust and no pullstart. to change to that type of format will require you to spend quite a bit on a starterbox, and then maybe $15 on a proper header. if you want to race check with your local club to see what thier rules are as some are more lenient (sp?) than sanctioned roar races.

that .18 was recently tested to be the best of all .18's currently in production not that long ago. the new one is faster, but how much do you really need for parking lot running.

plan on spending at least $250 for the italian engine then. You'll never do it with an OS

RB V-12 3port, Novarossi RL12S3, Mugen-Seki X12, Mega ZX-12 (due for release mid dec), Top and Rex are also good, just can't remember the model # off the top of my head. These are all Roar legal .12 engines. The outlaws are nice also (5 ports and .15's) THe RB V15 (both s and 5 port) Novarossi NS15S5 (5 port).

For these engine's plan on spending $250 and above. I think the RB V12 is around $220.

These are all italian made engines based on the mega block. Each manufacturer just does something else to the internals to get different power band specs. All good for speed and racing. Just make sure you gear properly otherwise it won't mean a thing.

what kind a gearing do you recomend for the rs4-s w/ 2 spd? i would love to get a high end Engine .. i got my rs4-3 on ebay ( great upgrades but just slow w/ the hpi nitro star .15 fe) plus I'm new to the nitro street cars. not ex sure what gearing i have.

I don't have an rs4, so I couldn't tell you what gear to get but what ever it may be, make sure that the tooth difference between the first and second spur is the same as the first and second pinion to keep mesh correct.

As an example, my NTC3 has a 21/27 pinion and a 54/48 spur. Both have a 6 tooth difference.

Thank You Diver6127.That Work's For Me ! And Thanx To All The Members That Helped Me On This Thread.
