I was thinking about throwing a 32cc 4-Cycle, Full Crank engine in my Baja 5b. What are your thoughts on this?
I pretty sure its the same size as all the 2-cycles that are being used in the Baja 5b now but I'm not sure how the carb; exhaust, and drive shaft are positioned on it. I will take a look at it later tomarrow.

stear clear of that!.. there is no real good reason for a 4 cycle in a baja.. they just can't provide enough ontap power like a 2 stroke, diffrent carbs, clutch and they cost more.. the rtr comes with a 23cc, the ss comes with a 26cc, the most popular large displacement motors for the baja are the 30.5's...

Thats what i figured. I also have a secret engine, a 29 BHP 29cc 2-cycle Baja 5b engine! MUAHAHAHAHA! sorry about that i just got the need 4 speed. But no joke its a 29 BHP and thats with a stock can muffler and a cheap carb. Just think of what it could be with a high porformance intake (cone cold air intake) and a high porformance exhaust system (HPI # 86690 Aluminum Tuned Pipe Set, i choise this 1 because it sounds like a high porformance, big block car and its porformance ratings.), this thing would be hell on wheels!

The only thing id be worried about as of right now is fuel consumption and the engine ripping the diff. to millions of peices. But what do you all think of my insaine idea?

If you're not breaking something, you're not doing it right. Drive it like you stole it.

i dought you will break any thing... there is not enough low end torche.. and a 4 stgroke of that size will put out less rpms then a much smaller 2stroke, wich means slow... there are plenty of 4 strokes of that size available, and if they were even just a little better, people would buy them.. but nobody,s buying them

sweet action!! if you want to go faster.. take the stinger off that pipe..

The 29 BHP is a 2-stroke/cycle engine, i think is got loads of torque. As for that stock 26 thats on there right now, i have the HPI # 86690 Aluminum Tuned Pipe Set coming in. But for now ill take off that ugly :constipat stinger.

Oh and the antenna got ripped off the receiver so I'm going to drop my Spektrum DSM in it and use my Airtronics M8 with it.

got a link to the "BPH" motor? not heard of them i dont think.

alot will depend on mounting nubs/poings. you may need to install the flywheel cover from the baja to get the PS side of the motor to mount in. any other info you can offer on the BPH?

I think he said 29 BHP meaning witch from my understanding is "Break Horse Power"
I may be very wrong but thats just what I understood.

You guys have got to stop posting pics and talking about Bajas before I have to get one!

yea its a 29 brake horse power engine, Brake is a little more then just horse power. The brand of engine i can't think of off the top of my head but ill let you know later.
Ill also take some pics. of the engine and i think its got the intake, exhaust, and pullstart all in the same spots as the stock fuelie engine.

i have to call BS

there is no way if hell you are getting a 29 horse power engine (brake or otherwise) with the same footprint of the stock baja engine...the "king of kings" 30.5 reed full port is only around 6 hp at the crank....

And that was desighned for the use on this car, where as mine is for an industrial leaf blower, yard vac, and chipper all in 1. Its at the Home Depot.

Ugh, look, the engines you buy for the car are limited because of the issue with "wow this is so fast and uncontrolable if it goes flying it can take a leg or head off" factor. Its about insurance. Take an engine that is made to chip wood at 240 mph, yea thats alot of torque and rpm. Throw it in a baja and what do you get, a baja that is good for 1 thing, straight line speed runs. Wanna race for pinks now?

Well i did post something but someone deleted it. Why is this?

This next 1 is what I'm looking at getting.

All engines mount the same as the Baja engines and same footprint.
Id also like to say that not once did i ever say either of the engines (4 stroke or 2 cycle) was ever installed in my Baja. So looks like you mispoke about calling a B.S. Read it all before you post things that make YOU, not me, seem like an idiot. You know who you are.

I deleted it, first off you posted private messages, they are called private for a reason. You then attacked this person in the open forums, also against the rules. Now your recent post is starting back with an aggressive tone. Take this as a warning, do not post pms, or make confrontational posts.

Now, as far as this motor, it is NOT 26 bhp (brake horse power), that is just a model number. You may want to do a little research before getting in to an argument.

i d have to look, but i agree, any motor thats making 29 BPH isnt going to fit. at all.
you may be lucky to find a 35 to 60cc motor that MAY fit with a shoehorn and alot of modding, but i doubt you ll get anything bigger.

you ll probably also find the RPMs only getting to around 8000 to 9000 rpms. which is quite low considering some of the clutch springs are 8000rpm springs.
