So I've recently been upgrading and customizing my truck and I fiddlesticked my old esc. I recently got a new one a wp-1060-brushed. I'm also using a 550 12t traax motor and I don't seem to be getting the speed I thought I would get. On top of that the esc is getting hot, what could be the problem?

I couldn't tell you a specific number I still got to get a thermometer. But it gets too hot to touch. And the motor does and this will be only a couple min of riding around the yard.

Without knowing specifics like temps, what the kit is, what the old electronics were etc I can only guess. If TNT is correct in saying your old ESC was a Traxxas XL-5 then the replacement ESC may not be big enough. Hard to say without knowing exact temps of ESC and Motor to see if theyre just running warm or if they are actually over heating.

If you're gonna replace the ESC Id pick up a cheap brushless system and put in it. Something like THIS Spektrum Firma 85A ESC/4000kv motor combo.
