hey

my x-c is great.

but were should i keep the high end needlie setting most of the time, 2.5? 3? 3.5? i try everything it stalls alot or gets hot, well it got hot 2 day and the i realized that it was at 2! :flamer: got hot?
:nuke: very stupid of me, but it wasn't stalling out as much, plz help :dumb: :dumb: :dumb:

I always set My X-C to the default settings before I run it, and tune it from there. That way I am sure where my needles are. I also get a great tune every time.

With the throttle open completely, the low speed needle comes out 5 turns.

The High speed needle is 3 turns out.

Set it to the above settings. Start it.

Then, lean the high speed needle only. Try to get good take off, and still have a bit of smoke (maybe 1/4 to 1/2) a turn in, possibly more.

Get the high speed figured so it is running good, and has plenty of power. Run a tank or two through it.

After you are ABSOLUTELY sure it's running good, and you don;t need to change the high speed needle any more. Then you can TRY to turn the low speed needle in about 1/16 at a time. You should gain a bit of power here, but be carefull not to overlean it.

If you have a temp gun, use it. This will tell you if your to lean or not. Anything over 260 is to lean for me. You don't really want to run below 180 since the parts in the engine expand to their optimum running tolerance around 200.

All engines will vary with needle settings. 2 turns on one engine doesn't necessarily mean 2 turns on the exact same type of engine is the same. This is a result of mass production of parts.
