engine temps?

is there a specific temperature range that you engine should be running at? is it specific to each engine? i've read a few articles on the web and i've seen temps ranging as low as 180 degrees F and as high as 280 degrees F.

Engines vary, but I have good results with long engine life staying between 210 and 260. I've gotten a few cheaper engines over the 10 gallon mark.

it all has to do with engine tuning...if u have the perfect tune then the temps will be around 210-240 at low throttle and 240-270 ...270 being the max..if you pass it then youll have to richen it out a bit ...your engine should stay long

I have to agree with Olds on this one. Like he said engine temps will vary from engine to engine, but I also shoot for that range and have had great luck with all my engines.

I am running a TRX 2.5 and I have her tuned good at about 227 to 235. But 260 on mills is pushing it.

i have a 2.5 that hit 420 degrees during break in. (oops) it now has 3 gal in it and can still do wheelies. So, guess I'm just lucky.

The 2.5 or .15s are called the pitbulls of engines cause of there hard to damage and run forever.
