no.. you can use either stock or the UE ones. the UE diffs have a different gear ratio than stock. I went to the UE diffs simply because I scattered too many stock diffs but you can run stock diffs fine.
 
kool, i found out what mine prob was. it is so dumb on my part. u know the little bar that makes ur truck go from forward to reverse? ya well i havent got around to getting my forward only kit so i have a little wire holding it to the forward position. ya and the bar on it was like half way extended so my truck keep going from nuetral to forward and i thought it was my clutch shoes but it really wasn't.!!!:D

thats what i was trying to eliminate. but since i dont have the forward only converison i made one my self.

no, so far the 4-shoe is working alright, probably because i just got the 2-speed for it and its stuck in first gear and is overreving the engine. the lower the gears are the better it is on the clutch
 
check ur tranny and make sure that ur gears are working right in it. u might have a fear or 2 that are broken into pieces. so u havent got the clutch to wrk yet?

no, i checked the gears and they are fine. i just got the 2-speed and its never worked. i have tried every adjustment possible, but nothing! i know its stuck in first though, its at top speed at half throtle
 
ok, i fed up with this wimpy clutch, so this is what I'm gettin, let me know if i picked the right stuff.

1. Strobe slipper
2.plastic 52 t ofna slipper spur
3.ofna 18t clutch bell
4.supermaxx clutch system
 
it sounds like a winner. i was going to get the supermaxx clutch assembly also when mine goes out.

hey supermaxx97, have you broken those wimpy cvd's that came with the .21 kit yet? i have snapped them twice so far, i probably should go ahead and get those supermaxx ones.
 
ya, i HATE them!!! i have broke all of them atleast 5 times. i went and got some MIP ones for the back for now. but i left the front ones the xtm. the only thing bad with the supermaxx suspension is taht the xtm cvd's arent quite long enough to have the suspension how i want it. but o well. i will be getting supermaxx cvd's soon!!

well i ordered the 1/8 scale setup yesterday so i should get it in a day or two, hopefully this will the problem once and for all. back to my 2-speed problem, i was thinking. maybe the truck is shifting but i can't hear it shift.
 
that is good. that should do the trick. for the shifting mine i can barley hear. does ur truck sound like it is reved up very high and does it go slow?

get a 3 shoe aluminum... you'll love it... with gold springs too...
 
no not really, but all the parts are working correctly so it must be the settings are off a bit
 
ya check and make sure that all of the settings are correct cause if not that will mess with it.
