My engine is running and it turns the flywheel a little. Enough to make the truck (tmaxx 2.5) jolt forward a little. But I can easily hold the flywheel and stop it. It's like the clutch is not engaging.

Any ideas ?

When you stop the flywheel, is the engine revving above idle?
Does it stall the engine?
When you hit the throttle, does it rev up and not move?

Do you mean flywheel or spur gear? I'm not being a jerk, just trying to make sure.

If it's in fact your flywheel, then your flywheel nut came loose. Touching a flywheel when the engine is running should burn the skin off your thumb before it stops. Unless you have a lot of callous on your thumb. Basically, the flywheel should be locked to the crank shaft, so if it stops, the engine stops.

If you can do that with your spur, then it could either be a loose flywheel nut or your clutch shoes are total garbage and need replaced.

Sorry, it is the spur gear I can stop and it doesn't affect the engine at all. I can rev the engine with the throttle no problem.

Okay, that's what I thought. Now that we're all on the same page, I'll let "that other guy" explain it to you. :D

Sorry man, I was typing my dissertation while you were typing your short note... that's what I get for being wordy.

Anyway, sounds like your clutch shoes inside the bell need replaced or at least looked at.
