Now I'm not the big guy for buying the biggest and the best all the time, but I went in search for a new motor. I know my little POS TRX .15 pro is a decent motor, but I think I'm ready for a bit more speedy motor. FIRST

Good Motor?

I'm looking at the OS CV-X for my RC10GT. I can get one for only 139.99 at the lhs. And from towers it's 124.99 plus shipping. SO! I'd be paying about the same.

And rebuilding motors? This would only cost about 60 bucks or so for a piston and sleeve. And I run a good 2 months on a motor before I kill it. :D

I was also going to change the head on it. I heard that the stock head isn't the "best" for the motor running cool. And as long as it's cool, I don't care how stupid it looks :D

What do you guys think? Good motor for the RC10?

the os cvx is a good motor i run a os 12cvx my self but for racing you might want to step up to a os cv-rx more power and on sale right now at tower i do believe

Well. It'll bash more than race. But I want the power I need to race. If I had that old AE motor, it would have been my best bet :) I want power, but I want endurance too. I don't want to have to tear it down in a gallon and a half :music:

Want a big block? jk! the CV-RX is a good choice. Dont go with that CV-X, its not VERY powerful. I beat down one at my local track with my 2.5. BTW: the 2.5 is a good Powerful off-road motor. If your intrested...

I don't like traxxas motors. Specially that heat prone 2.5. Only reason my TRX runs so cool is because of the different head :D

I want an OS because of the availibility of rebuild parts. I'll rebuild and engine 3 times, then get a new block and everything. Is the CV-X a better motor than the TRX Pro? Yes. :D I don't need the most powerful. :)
