Hi everybody.I am new to this site and joined
because of the helpful people and the knowledge of
nitro engines that you guy's have. Now lets see if
someone could maybe help me.I own a Tamiya Tnx 3.0 and
I loved this truck but lately she has just has been struggling.
My truck idles great, but when I take off and give it full
throttle she will die everytime.I have sealed all possible air
leak areas with high quality rtv.Compression seems to be good.
I have inspected all fuel lines and tank.I also noticed that I
have completely burned off the element on my glow plug(GONE).
Could someone please help me because this ones got me beat.
Thank's.:nono::microwave

I have thrown in the towel guy's.Iam going
to take this truck to venture hobbies. They
are an excellent hobby shop in chicagoland.
They fixed this same truck once before.Thats
after no other shop was able to fix it.

It sounds like your LSN is good, but you're too lean on the HSN. Turn it out, just a little, and try it again. Keep doing that..little by little, till it comes around.

I have already tried that but thank's for
the advice.Funny thing though.This truck
will idle like a champ, but don't hit the gas
or it will take off fast but then die(guaranteed).
Lean or rich doesn't seem to matter.:constipat

Okay, let's start from the beginning. It idles fine. Are you letting it warm up before punching the throttle?
When you hit the throttle, how far does it go before it dies? If the glow plug is burned, and it dies quickly, it's too lean on the LSN. You need to make your adjustments slowly, and give the engine time to adjust to the changes. Avoid messing with both needles at the same time, or you'll lose the point you were at to begin with.
If you richen the LSN, and apply throttle slowly, see how she runs. If it's improving, richen it a hair more till it accelerates well up to half throttle. After that, it's up to the HSN. Keep checking temps.

Yes I definetly had to get a new glow plug.I
have another head for this engine maybe 1
head is warped.

I have decided to buy a new engine.Which engine
has more power? The original fs18sr engine or the os 18
cvrx engine.I would think the os would have more power.
Who's knows.Anybody?
