Got a HPI bullet MT 3.0. I am quite new to nitro cars. I was out running today (10 Celsius outside). Did some tuning to high and low needle. I thought it was running just fine. Suddenly the motor stopped turning in to a corner, and when I tryed to pull the pulstarter it was almost impossible! Had a Traxass temperature gage onbord. It said about 288 F. Have I overheated the engine? Do I need to take the motor apart an get some new parts (of a kind?). It has now cooled down, and the pulstarter seems to be stock / or the pisten. Ups!!! Need some advise?? :whhooo:

Sadly, it sounds like something broke inside the engine, probably the connecting rod. Take out the engine and take it apart and see. Con-rods usually break due to defect, too rich/cold running or over revving.

288F is a bit warm, usually 210F-260F is the range you want to stay in.

Weee... ;O) Found the problem. A rock stock under the car. Blocked the main wheel... Removed it at hurried out for a test run... Richened the high and low needle a bit and keep my eye on the temp. It was around 230, topped at 255F. More blue smoke than last run but a bit more slow.... But still fast enough for me bashring around....
Learned my lesson... will keep a better eye on the temp!
Thanks again from Denmark... Me saturday evening is saved ;O)

Good to hear you got lucky.
More blue smoke but slower means you're running a bit rich. That's okay since it's so cold out. It needs more fuel to run in winter. As the weather warms you can start to lean it for performance.

Seems like good things come with summer.... Still early spring/winter in Denmark! But who can wait for the sun... Will run rich until the wether warms up.... Thanks ;O)
