engine not starting

My .18 engine will not start. I tried to change the glow plug but it still will not start.

Glow ignitor charged?

And I'll add, has fuel gotten into the carb?

Please be more specific in what you are doing when attempting to start it. Is it a new engine? When the fuel gets to the engine, does it sound like it's trying to start? A more detailed explaination will give better results in answers.

Yes the glow ignitor is charged. It is about 2-3 months old. It dosn't sound like it is trying to start. When try to start it, there is no sound difference than when I just pull the starter without any gas and glow ignitor.

What mill is it? a .18 what? Pullstart? Either way Id bet its a air leak.

If it was an airleak wouldn't it at least start.

The temps would skyrocket though.

Not neccisarilly (sp?) Mine wouldnt in my rs4. It wouldnt even fire. Then I put new fuel line on, put on a new fuel tank and its started right up and ran fine ever since.

Check the compression, how much fuel has the engine seen? Has it been hard to start before?, hard to keep running?

about 15-20 tanks after break in. A couple of times before it was hard to start before. Some of the times I ran it, it would go good and other times it was a little hard to keep going.

Sounds like a tuning issue. The last time you ran the car and it ran well, what was the weather like? Regardless, bring the needles back to factory and retune. If you don't know what the factory settings are, a good place to start on OS engines is 2 1/2 - 3 out from fully closed on the HSN and flush with the LSN.

Not to offend, but my experience with O.S. Engines has not been good to hold a tune. Like Diver said, try the retuning and post back.

engine flooded?? take off the glow plug turn it over and try to start again (advance the throttle just a little bit, like an idle up). Same result? turn out your low speed needle; maybe it became too lean. Try again. When you are trying to start it make sure you don't give it throttle all the time as you are starting it since that'll flood it again. Just advance the throttle a bit with the trim for an idle up and try to start.
