I am having aome tuning problems with an old Kyosho Outlaw Rampage. It has an OS.12 CZR w/ fresh P/S in it and I have been trying to break it in. It has been several years since I had the kit out and decided to get it it and mess with it a bit. After completely dissassembling the engine and carb (wich was a little gummed up) and giving it all a good cleaning, I reassembled it and started it up. It was a little rough at first, but after some adjusting it would run pretty strong. In the middle of a run that was going well (decent snap off the bottom, good top end) it just stopped running the same. After you prime and start it will run but you have to have the throttle WO and then all it does is act bogged down. it does not rev up at all even w/ the WOT. The rmp's actually seem to taper down until it dies. I try to set the LSN to be flush with the carb body and start the mix. needle at 3-2.75 turns out (both per O.S. specs). What it seems like to me is that it is just running on the fuel that I am priming it with then stopping. I am very puzzled becaus it happened very unexpectedly in the middle of a good run. I have checked the fuel line and the pressure line from the pipe and all is clear. Any ideas as to what is going on is appreciated.

I got it figured out. WOW! Do feel I dumb or what! It turns out that What I thought was a loose pull start cover (it just snaps on) was really the backplate. It was VERY loose! I really am surprized that it could start at all.
Live and learn I guess!:D
