I picked up an X2 CRT roller from one of my buddies, wondering what a good engine/pipe combo would be. He says the new Werks B5 is really good but i wanna hear what you guys think. It is used for racing, trying to keep it under $400.

Werks B5, JL .21, Alpha Plus...all AWESOME $200 price range engines..... I personally run an Alpha Plus S852 (Orange Head) and LOOOOVE it.

The Werks has excellent bottom end torque and excellent fuel economy. The JL does not quite have enough bottom end for the X2 unless you run a 1.1 clutch spring.
The JPX .21 is another good choice, just as torquey as the B5 but with more top end.

excellent choice. i haven't had many engines to know if it's worth the extra money. i have not had a problem or even a complaint so far though. from what i've read they are worth every penny.
it's kinda funny about scrogg, moto and me, i was looking at the alpha and the b5 also. the more i run the plus-4 the more i'm starting to bleed purple.

I'm bleeding Orange at the moment ;-) That Alpha Plus is insane.....bone stock. hehe The guy pitting for me in Sportsman Truggy at the last race was amazed at how that engine would balloon a new set of Truggy Tires all the way down our front straight and still temp at 230 after a 20 min main. haha He's looking to buy one himself now.

The Nova Plus 4 gets awesome reviews....and I've pitted for quite a few guys running B5's with great results. The Alpha Plus has just amazed me for a $209 engine.....so we'll see how long it lasts. Coming up on 1.75 gallons or so now...still can't turn it over by hand. hehe
