I want... no, I NEED to seriously hop-up my ntc3.

My neighbor across the street saw me driving the car up and down the street and thought it was so tits. We were talking for a while. So anyways, the next night I'm in the garage and hear "the sound". He went and bought THREE! One for him, one for each of his two boys (13yo). I forget exactly which ones they bought. (1)evo (1)ntc3+ & (1)hpi...
I can't just let them kick my as$ with their newbie egos.

So, what motor will give me no contest?

i had no problems with the stock RB v12. it was consistent and easy to tune. other engines that you might want to try are the following novarossi based engines. these are consistent and have a good powerband. all of these motors can be purchased in the $280-$300 range.

REX RER12S3 - great mid range power.
TOP TSRs3 - great for short tracks
Mugen X12- great engine but not truly consistent. i have one. when it's running great it's performance is simply awesome, but when it's off your day is a headache.

You didn't say what mill you currently have in there, but if it's the stock mill that they stick in the rtr's ... any of the engine's sl0eg1n mentioned will be fine. If you want more "bang for buck" there's always the Sirio .12 Evo2 (discontinued but available if you search for it) or the new Sirio .12 Evo3. These will cost below $200 and will kick the tail of those RTR's your neighbor got. Beware though. They are new and are still on a big learning curve. Expect a lot of damage if they run with you. Personally, I'd stay off the black top while they are running and just observe. You'll get a feel if you want to run with them or not.

The most bang that your gonna get out of a .12, is the JP racing FX 5 port turbo FULL option.
Cost you around $600.00 beans.
Or a Novarossi JP modified 5 port turbo. About $5-600 if you can find one.
Tune either of the two correctly, and you will rip.
Tune them incorrectly, and you will pay!

Just get a fantom .15 and stick it in the TC3.
It will rip for a lot less $$$.

Or get the OS .18TZ and call it a day since you're not racing anyway.

EVEN BETTER!!!!

But that might destroy his gears....

I suggest not going over the .15 size. this is because the gears will most likely shred in the NTC3's diff, especially the spider gear. if you go any higher you will have too much torque that will not be able to get planted correctly. there's nothing wrong going with the sirio route but why not spend the extra $50 and get a novarossi based engine. the stock RB V12 (RBC1700-000410) goes for about $200. i put this on my NTC3 and raced it. it beat team17's mt12 powered mugen mtx3 on the track by 2 laps during an organized race last year.

HAHAHAHA, Sorry Ed, he's not gonna let that one die. Looks like you're gonna have to make him work this sunday if you race.

No offence to Team17, But I could put a poopy .12 in anyone of my cars and beat many people on a track. Driver skill and experience does come into play.
This guy just wants to rip ass up and down his street.
The track doesn't come into the equation.

That is true. But he just doesn't want to let Ed forget that day at prospeed. He rubs it in every chance he gets.

Is that the same day the Molachi's ruined my day?
I won't let you forget either.

When you race with the Molachi brothers, and get a few laps up on them.....WHAMO!
They put the Molachi crunch on you.

That be the same day you went head on with sl0eg1n. We don't do that anymore (well, not on purpose). We pretty much try to get into different mains these days to help pit for each other. If it's a trophy race, then that's a different story. We both made the B-main last year and we felt bad for the guy pitting for both of us. Good guy, just hectic trying to coordinate pit stops. Took 2nd and 3rd though. Only a couple of seconds split us. 710baby took first.

Yes that would be the day. You remember when he jumped the track and was running in the wrong direction.....
And who did he find???? ME! WHAMO!!!

I'm just yanking you guy's. I had a good time reguardless of how I was treated by you and your brother.. J/K

I have to run with you guy's at Barcar sometime.

It's ok, that's the same day I took out 710baby as well. Luckily his shock tower broke at a point where the shock wasn't affected.

Uhhh, duh!!! Just re-gear the stock motor. He will never know what hit him with your "sleeper" car! Set up a slightly lower first gear and a delayed hard shift to a med-to-high top end gear. Beat him big out of the hole, set the shift point for a slightly prolonged first gear, and just when he just catches up, it'll slam into second and pull to a higher top end, all on the stock motor. Let him try to figure it out.

Go for a 21/27 pinion and a 54/48 spur combo. Just make sure you have a strong enough engine to do it. That's what I was running with my Novarossi NS12S3. Good holeshot and even great top end. The shift was audible and visibly, it looked like it did a slingshot when shifting into second. Only problem was you have to keep an eye on your diffs. It's a hard shift and strips the diff gear and drive pinion if you don't do your maintanance. Depending on how often you run and how hard you drive, you will have to rebuild every so often. I went through 3 diffs in one race season.

the day i collided with you was when i was pressured by 710 baby to run my serpent. i didn't even have a body for the car. 710baby loaned me on of his to run. my car was totally unprepared and i still managed to get into the A-main with you. it was during the main i collided with you and your lola body sent my car flying.

the day i raced team17 with a NTC3 was about a month prior. team17 should definitely remember that day. he witnessed a grown man go through a fit because his car kept flaming out just before race time.

It was a sight to see and EVERYONE there saw it. Pretty pathetic too.
