Just sprayed my engine down with denatured (spelling) alcohole and I was wondering if there was any other precuations I should take after doing so, it works great cleans everything real well. I made sure not to get it on the electrnoics of course but should I oil the engine or anything like that after spraying it down/.

it is basically the same ingredient as nitro fuel - methonal. therfor, there isnt anything u need to do afterwards. a couple of drops of ARO in the carb wouldnt hurt, but isnt really necessary. as for the electronics, if u really soak them down, they may temporarily fault, but only if they really get drenched. for the most part, they are normally just fine.

funny, I just sprayed down my storm as well, do you have an air compressor? or canned air? I have a pretty large porter cable air compressor and I spray down the whole car and then blast it with air, If you dont have any means of compressed air the I would be al little more careful on what you hit with the DA. works pretty damn good though huh?

Actually the stuff rocks it took off all kind fo crime without even having to scrub ata ll, then I hit it with some air and some witha towl and it looks good as new!

Gotta luv an air compressor.... I normally just blow it with the air. I don't really spray anything. I guess I just don't get mine that dirty. My offroad, on the otherhand, that's a different story. I try to blow it clean, but if it doesn't come off, oh well. It's on there until I'm bored enough to tear it down and clean. LOL

Here's what I do:
-Sparay with DA
-Dry off with air compressor
-Spray all moving parts with WD-40 (pretty much everything underneath the chassis, all the way out to the axle carriers)
-Dry off with air compressor
Works great! Everything gets super clean and runs smoothly!

Usually I use Simple Green. Then I let it sit just for a minute and use a tooth brush to get the crud. Then I use a different spray bottle with some warm water to rinse off the parts. I bought some DA a while back and tried it. It seems to work well but the smell was just so damn strong. How do you guys deal with that?

The smell doesn't bother me that much, IMO it's not that strong. It's not like ammonia or anything. Also, if you do it outside (as you should be) it won't be bad at all.

I kinda like the smell minty green! plus when I drive my RC the ladies are like oh it smells so good! RRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHTTTTT

Smell doesn't bother me, and if yo put it in a strong spray bottle it will blast the grime right of the engine heat sink fins, (the ones on the crankcase are always the hardest to clean) then hit it with the air kompressor and set it outside to air out!

Compressor + DA = Power Cleaning Wand

Go to your local hardware store or say Home Depot. They have a wand that will syphon the DA ( or any liquid) as you spray the car off.... Man it works great and to be honest SAVE TIME! The one I have is adjustable so I can even turn it off so just air will come out.
