Well this is the third time my engine bolts have stripped and i have used the combination of red and blue locktite and it still comes out after about ten minutes. I let the threadlock dry for at least 4 days.

Are the screws that they give me not long enough? thier small short screws.

I dont know what to do besides maybe get longer bolts?

Engine bolts?
The screws that mount your engine to the motor mount or the screws that hold the motor mount to the chassis?

Are the threads stripping or are the head of the screws stripping?

Assemble the engine then hold the screw next to the engine. Place it about where the cap of the screw would make contact with the head, how far does the screw go into the block? If it is only two or three threads, you've found the problem. Make sure you are using the correct diameter of screw also, yes it sounds stupid, but I have seen it done before.

I'm taking off the engine right now and going to take a look and clean it out real well...

I'm getting black oil like substance when the screws come out.

clean the holes with denatured alcohol and then get some lock washers. Thats how all my engines are held down.

ok, i actually took my whole engine apart and gave it a really good wipe down and clean. But i also cleaned out the engine holes like you guys said to and i put new screws in with lock-tite and its setting right now so ill let you know how it works....

heres another question tho...on the side of the engine it has a piece sticking out that has two holes in it. looks like i can go from the bottom to them if i had the right size screw...would this hold the engine in better and cut down on vibration?

Ok you lost me here... How are you mounting the engine to the chassis? don't you have the engine mounts mounted to the block? The block or the crank case is mounted to some engine mounts and these engine mounts are mounted to the chassis.

What car and mill are you talking about?

well i have the HPI RS4 and the side of the motor below the exhaust manifold are two holes to where i can screw in a long screw from the bottom reaching up.

I'm mounting the motor to the chassis with the normal 4 screws

So the block has the mounts in the case already right? I would use 4 separate screws to secure the engine down so if there is a problem you have a different set to back you up.

thats what i was thinking i could do.

yes the 4 that are supposed to be in the engine case are in there so i think these would back me up and help me out...

What mill are you running? I've got the .12R ss and have no clue what your talking about with the hole below the manifold. Include pics if u can

I'm going to get pics up when i get home.

heres the pic, its hard to see but you can see what I'm talking about.

Those other holes are for motor mounts. I had to use them when I put the 18SS into my car because it didnt mount right to the chasis.
