This stuff is proving to be useful, especially for XT connectors! :)
I bought mine from ProgressiveRC.com

Is it the grey stuff holding on your plug?

Kind of like Clay or play doh? Looks helpful for soldering. Might actually need that. Currently I use a old block of wood with a hole that fits a bullet plug and it isn't the greatest.

It looks to me like it is the gray portion of two part epoxy putty.

You can also use blue tac. But it will melt if you're trying to solder bullets.

That looks similar to poster mounting putty. Which I actually use on my xray Right/Left markers to stick the markers on vertical surfaces.
Don't know how much your stuff cost, but the poster putty are really cheap.

I have used that stuff as well. It's the same as blue tac. It melts rather easily, but it's great for holding stuff while soldering. Just don't do bare bullets in it unless you like cleaning the goop out of the little nooks and crannies.

I just use my excess plumbers putty .. Purchased 25 years ago when I flipped my 12 houses I purchased...had 4 broken windows found a local glass retailer that had 1940"s glass. wavey stuff.the quart can still is good just some hand heat ...

I'm still using a block of wood too for bare bullet connectors. It works great for those :)
