I need help with replacing the brushes on an electric rc motor. Can any of you tell me (or show me with pics if you can or feel like doing that)?

I dont know if its open can or sealed can. But its the stock titan motor for the traxxas e-maxx 3905.

Doesn't look good. the open canned motors have the brush sleeves on the outside where you can change them effortlessly. It looks like you'd have to de-solder the can end to get at the brushes on this one. Not impossible, just a real pain.
I just looked at my E-Savage motors, and they're the same thing. Tabs bent in to lock it to the can. When you pull the back plate, the brushes and springs pop off the commutator and are a major pain to get back in place. If you really use it a lot, I would suggest investing in better motors with external brush sleeves. You might also look into commutator oil for better RPM and increased lifespan.

ok...Thanks that helped alot.
Just one more thing-can you seggest any better motors with these external brushes.

Both my brushless and the E-savage set ups are for boats. You'll have to wait for the electric car guys to advise you or post links for them.
