electric fuel pumps

I've used the search feature here and found a few threads regarding fuel pumps from a many years ago, but none seem to have reached any absolute conclusion. Has any one successfully incorporated an electric fuel pump? I found this piece, a little pricey but may be worth it with regards to consistent tuning. Maybe run it off a second hump pack?

I don't see it as a viable option for nitro rc applications since the carburetor on these engines do not have needle and float for positive fuel control.

I'm still trying to develop the concept, but wouldn't the HSN act as a needle. Also it may require a pressure regulator, esssentially a small restriction that the pump could "push" against which would compensate for varying pump outputs due to factors such as battery level etc.

The main reason this wouldn't be a good idea is that once it's activated, it will start pumping fuel into the engine weather it's running or not. The HSN only controls the amount of fuel flow, it can't "stop" it. Also, if the engine were to die, again the pump would continue to flow flooding the engine. Years back I tried all sorts of one way valves and a perry pump, the verdict was simple, way too much hassle for very little if any payoff. JMO.

Very excellent point. And any kind of control or regulatory system is far too complex. OK the point is well taken. I guess that's the thing about pipe dreams, they're just pipe dreams. :\
