Well as of this afternoon I am the proud owner of a modded OS 18 tm. I've been looking high and low for one since last summer and finally found one. I really lucked out on finding one that is new, EB modded, and comes with a new piston and sleeve combo. The kicker of it all, 220 bucks!! My question is, how much power do these have? Is it going to be more than my picco 21 max? I really love the idea of small cc with big power.:D

I just put an OS .18cvr on my Maxx. It rips hard. Even with a cheesy pipe. It has around a gallon through it. I'd say it rips as hard as a 3.3, with more low-end. When funds allow, I'm throwin' a nice pipe at it. And some Revo diffs...:)

Good, as long as it has more low end. I'm sure it has more of both. I'm tired of my 21 max, it's a dog. I don't think it's fully broken in yet, but it's going on my beater revo, where every engine seems to run better.

Well, I have a non-modded 18TM and honestly, after running big blocks for so long on MT's, it felt like a dog in my revo.

In it's prime, power is more linear than the TRX3.3 and almost the same peak power, but tuning was far better and as noted, power came on less peaky than the 3.3.

So, with an RB modded one, you will probably get more power and a bit more RPM's out of it with better fuel economy. I wouldn't expect it to be as torque heavy in the bottom end as a BB, but it should be pretty decent. More of a racers engine though.

I'll run my 18TM in my jato again now that I have the roll bar sorted out. The last time I ran it in that rig, I busted the crank case (like 4 trx 2.5's) and at $60 a pop (almost impossible to find 18Tm crank cases cheap), I stuck with the 2.5. I ended up getting a used crank case to fix it, but it sits in a box waiting for the 2.5 to die.

Yeah I wasn't expecting it to beat a picco 26, but at least it has more power than a 3.3. My t-maxx ran better with a 3.3 than it does with a 21 max.

I have an OS 18TM in my HPI MT2 and it is totally ridiculous. Sucker runs like a 4x4 Jato. I had it in a T-Maxx but swapped it out for a LRP .28....heh heh heh. I had the engine for sale on here a while back but got no real bites.

Well I've got it broken in. It's a powerhouse, for an .18 anyway. I did however realize that my inside rear pinion bearing is totally gone, so it should have even more juice once it's been it's fixed.
