will the easy start 1 do the same thing as the easy start 2? all they had at the hobby shop today was the ez start 1 so we got it but it wouldn't fit right into the truck. i have the ez start two but it wont light the glow plug. would it be better just to use a glow starter with the ez start 2, or just buy a new easy start.

Are you talking about the switch box with the wire leads to the plug, vs. the one in the hard case?
They both work the same. There's a component in them that often fails that sends the power to the glow plug. The EZ Start still works but needs a glow ignitor.

so it will probably be more reliable to get a glow ignitor

Yeah pick up a glow ignitor, or 2... One with a c or d cell battery and a rechargable one...
