got bored this arvo and deceided to build an e-slayer with some left over parts and a very sad looking e-revo roller.anyways i need some ideas for a motor and esc that are budget friendly and will be good for a short course truck,i'm limiting it to 4s so due to its weight i dont need a mamba or something capable of 6s
i'm open to all suggestions and input:)

Mamba max pro with 3800 kV or traxxas vxl....they're only 3s capable though....well the mamba max pro is 6s but the motor I think is 3

i have thought about the vxl system but i think it may be a wee bit to small for a larger short course

The Slayer is basically a Revo and the eRevo Brushless Edition comes with the Mamba Monster and a 2650kv motor.

This roller had a mmm but it grenaded
Dont really need that much power or need anything capable of running 6s as I already have both erevo brushless and emaxx brushless, I want something a little different and that ddont cost as much as the mamba
What are peoples thoughts on hobbywing

Will that be big enough to push this thing around
I'm not very savy with the brushless gear these days, nitro is my thing

I'm not sure, this will really be my first electric. After reading more in the description, I'm wondering now if this will be big enough.

Suggested Applications:
1/10 2wd and 4wd vehicles weighing 6.5lbs or less ready to run with batteries installed. Run this combo with up to 4S max cells. Don't forget, this is a 4 pole motor, so you can gear it higher than 2 pole motors of higher KV.

By my math I'm calculating this truck should come in around 7.5-8lbs. There's ~2.5lbs difference between the Revo 3.3 and the Slayer Pro, and I'm basing my calculation off that.

Don't short change it. The smaller ESC/motor combos (such as the Mamba Max Pro) simply do not have the power handling capability for moving a larger vehicle such as the Revo or Slayer. There is a reason why the conversion kits specify the Larger 1/8 scale ESC/motor combinations.

A smaller ESC such as the Mamba Max Pro simply can't handle the higher current needed to move the truck. Traxxas and HPI both use the CC Mamba Monster Max (HPI uses a re-badged version for the Savage Flux) in the monster trucks.

I've just done a deal for a flux blur.system for 75 bucks but I think the esc is dying or dead
If the esc is toast what replacement can I use ?

i know this sounds like a real rook question but do i hook the esc connector to channel 2 or what the receiver i'm using is a traxxas 2216 am receiver,i am assuming that it is connected the same way the 2.4 ghz radio is setup

ok so i picked up the blur setup from a mate ended up paying $70 ro motor and esc
but i am having a bit of a problem calabrating it,everything is hooked up,turn the controller on hold full throttle ten go to turn on the esc,it starts chiming away with all 3 leds flashing and thats as far as it gets.
i'm running stock trx am radio, nip receiver and i've set the transmitter to reverse like it says in the castle book but still no dice, just 3 blinking leds......any ideas??
