Man isn't that motor massive? I'm not sure if the 6.5 is completly the same as the 4.5, but I couldn't believe how big the motor was. It looks more like a soda can than an electric motor. Was the problem because of that huge heatsink? I know some of the revo guys are just trimming a small tab off of their heatsink for clearance issues.

yeah, that motor is pretty dang big. Its just a little too long and fat for the stock tvp's. I would have to trim the tvp's but generis makes a brushless edition tvp thats designed for the novak HV motors.

Look at it this way man, that huge motor is going to be insane when it gets going. Can't wait to see a video of the finished project!

i can't wait to have it done. The chassis won't be here until around the 16th and i might be able to get my hands on some twinforce battery trays to mount to the side of the truck. On top of that, work is crazy, i am closing on my house on the 26th, and my sister is getting married on the 14th. June is a BUSY month.

ok i can't decide if i should get these or not. The problem is that i already spent $700 more than i planned on this truck and i'm not sure if i really need these. i don't want to start snapping hingepin holders on my bulkheads either. They are super sweet IMO but i'm just not sure if i need them. I think its more of a want than a need.

Its an extended arm and cvd setup from generis. It would be about $300 for 4 upper, 4 lowers and full cvd's (center shafts and outdrives). What do you think?

dang it, i ordered this pinion.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXURT2&P=M

its a 5MM 17T pinion. I got it in today and its 48 pitch. GRRRRR the esavage has a 32 pitch spur gear. So now i need to either find a 66T 48 pitch spur or a 17T 32 pitch 5mm pinion.

Edit: I found one at fine design rc. $20.90 BLAH

Wow, those A-arms are beautiful. For that price, I hope they're titanium and not just alloy.

(ahem, ahem) That big can motor with the heat sink.... will I find that in my package when it arrives?

i am trying not to get carried away with this thing. I already want another $500 in parts. I want the ex arms, cvd's all the way around, stainless tranny gears and some new wheels and tires.

I guess i should just get it running first. I am contemplating selling my TC5 as a roller since my new GTB case from Novak never showed up. I love it but i am too throttle happy and i burn through tires like crazy. I figure i can pull $300 for it as a roller on ebay since i have lots of spare parts and it has a fresh spool and one way installed. That would bring me closer to my e-savage goal for sure.

I have a few weeks to think about it while i wait for parts. We shall see.....

Anybody wanna buy a TC5? =devil

So it's not just me? I'm so relieved. More power to ya.

you two are not alone, I'm $1500 into my Revo, I haven't even begun assembly, and those are just the basic parts. Get it running? But then I might get it dirty or heaven forbid scratch up the carbon fiber chassis.

I'm back in town but i left work early so i don't know if my chassis came in yet. They emailed and said they forgot to send the rear driveshaft so they were mailing one out along with a free set of chassis braces for their error. I need to get this thing together because it looks SOOO sweet sitting there, i am starting to feel like it should be a shelf queen. The 5955 is installed so i should be able to swing those tires around now. Going into work tommorow so i can shim the diffs and hopefully install the chassis. I will have pictures up tommorow for sure so check back. I can't wait to have it rtr. I am just worried i will be too much of a pansy to run it.

few more cell pics. (i need to start bringing the camera to work)
GCM road boy brushless TVP's installed (lower and longer)
spektrum receiver installed
hitec 5955 installed
LST2 shocks installed
All electronics will be installed today. woot!

Am I the only one that can't see any of the pictures but the last one? Sometimes I get the lil red x but other people can see the image fine, so I was wondering if it's just an error on my computer (conflict with vista, the only one that I've ever had but it's still annoying) or if other people are having trouble too.

they are hosted with photobucket so they should be ok..... the last one is hosted by HPI so if any of them were red x's i would expect the last one to be. weird

FIX YOUR SHIZZLE CHAWLIIEEEEE

Can you see the pics yet?

I am going to get some nice pictures tommorow. I got the motor installed earlier as well as the esc. I had to shave 2 fins on one side and 1 on the other to get a nice even fit. I am going to give it a 2wd test run tommorow. Just nice and easy to make sure everything is ok so far.

I found out that it's a problem with photobucket, they are experiencing some issues and tons of people have been reporting the same problem all day.

Ok i signed up with a new host AND brought the digi cam in to work. Here are a few shots i took this morning. I'm not satisfied with the wire routing but i can always work on that. The on/off switch mounted perfectly so i was happy about that. I am a little leery about running and open spur but there is no was the cover will fit unless i move the esc back and then that puts my motor wires in a bind. If i rotate it to get them out of a bind, my battery wires look stupid. I still have a long way to go but this is how she stands. i will be updating it during the day today.

Don't call in the Roflcopter just yet but i think i lost the wheel nuts.....
