E-Maxx esc crazy

So I got an older E-Maxx, I spent some time fixing it and cleaning it and the truck is in very good condition. The main issue I'm having with the truck is the ESC goes a little crazy after a while of use. randomly the truck will start twitching and giving forward and reverse back and forth super fast and I have to pick up the truck before it goes full reverse even after replacing the receiver and radio it still does this and turning off the radio doesn't fix it. The only way to stop the truck is by switching the power switch off and when this happens the truck will not turn on again for a while unless it sits for around 15 minutes with the switch set to on... I've calibrated the ESC and I just can't seem to get it to behave.

that's what I figured. is there a way I can get it working somewhat reliable? if not that's what I expect
