Just wonder if anyone has any experience dyeing wheels. I have a set of RPM Monster Clawz, that I want to dye. I have some liquid Rit dye, anyone have any pointers?

Cool, that is exactly what I was looking for. Great Article!

I know this is a "old topic" BUT i found a better way of doing it. cost is cheap, use of a "old pan" not nessasary...

Items needed, some of the 3 for 2$ Gladlock type containers, ya know the ones that are microwave safe. this is your dying dish....

and some dye

steps to doing it.

i set the wheels in the dish, filled it with water, since mine are 2 tone i had to do a little marking for my desire on the dish so i knew how much water was needed at a level area to do that. i used a marker to mark the position with wheels in the water, then took the wheels out and marked it with out wheels, will be a lower water line.

Boil a pan of water, then pour into the tub to the water line, mix in the dye (used a plastic picnic type spoon) and set wheels in. the longer they sit the darker they get.

in all they dye job costed me 6$ and i have no problem with pitching the dye pan so i know my son will not ever get to it.

so how do they look? Note: the blue color i have no idea why my camera did that, it is purpal... with a yellow/golden back, looks sweet on the savage

Damn right thats does look good. I was thinking of doing a two tone. But with a top one color and botton the others opposite of how you did yours but that is slick. I like that I think I will actually give that a try.. Nice info...X

hey crsmp5, on your back springs what are those small yellow springs up top? are the seperate springs or are you using your two-tone magic there too?

interesting point.. no those are touring car springs used inplace of spacers, rases the ride height and eliminates coil bind issues involved with spacers to get to that point.. NOW if i had a set of powder coated in white springs.. they can be dyed the same way... just no one i kno wmakes a white set of springs for the sav
