has anyone ever dyed a body? if so how did you do it and did you like how it looked and the results you got?

I'm with VB. The dye usally only last a few runs on wheels. I doubt it would last long on a lid. Just paint..

well in that case just use a candy coat then spray a clear backer

What kinda dye are you using? When you dye your wheels, it should last forever. If you leave the parts in long enough, the dye should permeate into the plastic.. I've never had a dye job that didn't last..

same here iv died some black ones and they have lasted, i was just talkin about regular rit dye, and i was just curious so i figured id ask. Thanks

o good idea didnt think of that one that way you wolnd waste a body.

Interesting idea. I would expect that if you dyed a body, it would be translucent. A coat of silver or white paint might make it look cool. It would limit how creative you could be, though since intricate designs wouldn't be really possible. 1 maybe 2 colors. I guess if I had a body I was willing to sacrifice, I might be willing to try it.

I'm just surprised someone else hasnt thought of it by now if one of you guys doesn't try it when i get my ss kit ill throw in some of the lexin that i would cut off and try it and all. i just thought of it cuz iv never painted a body and all.

I wonder if Plasticoat would boil off.
You could always crumple it up and tie it together with rubber bands :D

IF you can dye lexan w/o it wrinkling and curling in the hot water, I imagine you could do some wicked ghost effects if the body comes out translucent.
