Dumb house

So my living room and kitchen and guest bed stay really warm.. but directly on the other side of the unit my master bath and master bed are really cold.. like theirs at least a 20 degree difference in air temp coming out of the vents. my landlord said everything looked fine underneath.. i took a peak of the underside after work but did crawl under.. and it looked like a there was a little sagging of insulation but nothing major for such an older place.. anyone here know anything about heating units? could there be a dual heating core in the unit and only one is working?

i know i sound like a idiot but I'm clueless about this stuff

I'm only 13 but i would say look for any gaps in the duct work in the house and also it might be something with your heater.

I rented a place with the same problem your having, I would try closing down the vents on the hot side of the house and opening the ones on the cold side and see if that helps, it worked for me , good luck...

that is normally seen in a two story. the air, like water, takes the path of least resistance. like stated try closing off a vent or two, or at least turn them down half way. i "tuned" mine and added a small fan upstairs, blowing over the edge of the loft and mine went from the big difference your seeing to pretty close to the same all over the house..

i would still check the ducts though, you may have had one come loose.

Thanks for the advice guys I've tryed the whole vent deal with no luck even tried stuffing something under my door at night with no real luck.

i used my temp gun today and well the house layout from left to right is like this

m.bed m.bath--heating unit--kitchen--liveingroom--guest bed and bath
95deg. 115deg. 105deg 105deg.

thats the temp of the vents.. I'm guessing i eather have a hole or a loose duck somewhere under the house.. ill have to check it out.. if not it must just be the unit is sucking the warm air away from the left side of the house somehow not sure

If you can capture it, keep it in the coolest part of the house and take advantage of its' body heat.

It's apparent you have forced air heat rather than hot water. Do you have in and out vents in every room, or just a main input in a central hall? It's not that common on older air units, but find out if you have 2 zones and 2 thermostats.

Mulitple outlets and a single return? A single return means a single zone system.

Are the outlets all in the floor? Where is the return? I am guessing the coldest part of the place is the farthest from the furnace/heat pump?

its a single unit in the middle of the house
and i figured out the problem.
first off the shims in the ducts were all messed up and had to be sealed.
and secondly the sequencer in the heater for the main coil was burnt out
so I've ordered the part and it should be here by Monday and hopefully its gonna solve the problem
