drag race on gravel!

hey guys i have a drag race on gravel in 3 hours with one of my friends..i have a hyper 8 with mach.28 engine and he has a koyosho buggy i think..he also has .28 engine but i dont know what kind...any tips? what should i get ready before the race? its a pink slip race so if i win i get his car and if i lose...well u kno

Pull your center diff and put the thickest diff oil you have in there.......how far is the course? If it is a short course you want the just off the line; if longer you may want to go up on the pinion. Tune it up to the max safe temp.....get as much power out of it as you fricken can......Look at it this way...you lose it's gone. If you darn near cook the engine...at least you keep the roller and the mill can be rebuilt.

haha thanks i only have on diff oil i dont think its that thick... what do thick diff oils do?

Also...the widest most aggressive tread pattern tires you have for it.....you want to get all the traction you can get. Thick diff oil will give you a better posi-traction action. I run 50k in the center.... 20 in the front and 10 to 15 in the rear. I get more power to the rear that way. Also if the front comes up, not all the power transfers forward with the thick oil in the center.

well i won! but my tires are all torn up! i did a huuuuuuuge burnout after the race and a couple of donuts... the guy didnt give me his car..he wanted to rematch! he said its unfair because i bigger tires then his...when there the same size!

i am goin 2 race some people on my local play field with my hyper st soon. they aint saw one be4 so when i get there i will just go up and down slow (to let them think it is slow) and when they race i will thrash them. btw they have a hpi savage

May want to be careful. A Savage just may take you on top end. My Savage is a three speed and tops out a bit over 50. My LRP .28 gets it there quick too...Not all Savages are slow.
